for what it's worth, I tried to help you a few days ago with no luck.

came back to see if anyone else was able, since I liked the song.

I'd like to see some of the big-headed music forum talk put to application. go go go.

SYRFox 07.27.2009 12:30 PM

yeah, tried too but couldn't help.

amerikangod 07.27.2009 01:01 PM

Quite possible the opening theme from a short-lived TV show in the early 90's.

Glice 07.27.2009 01:08 PM

I got 20 seconds in, realised I neither knew who it was or liked the song, turned it off.

I'm going to be digitising a load of my old Peel tapes later this year so there'll be a lot more threads like this from me in due course.

Whatever it is, I wouldn't be overly surprised if the band turned out to be signed to Creation.

I'll tell you what, once I've got them all done I'll do you a DVD or CD (depending on how large they turn out to be).

Yes please! that would be great Glice.

Glice 07.27.2009 02:38 PM

Ok - in due course. It's one of those things I've been putting off for yonks, but as soon as it's done I'll let you know.

I can never tell if yr being serious or not. I think you just like saying something's shit.

please don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical of you, I'm just trying to better understand. I'm evil, and it makes me laugh.

for example, a favorite post of mine is the day you made GMKU cry.

Glice 07.28.2009 10:41 AM

Unknown song isn't 'shit' per se, it just doesn't flick my switches. Y'know, it's important to listen to new things and all that, but I've had 15+ years of guitar music and I'm a bit drained on it. Luckily for you, I partially document my own self-loathing via the medium of this board.

Confucious is sex 07.28.2009 10:42 AM

Play it to Shazam on an IPhone

atsonicpark 07.28.2009 11:04 AM

dunno what this is, but it's a cool song.

I found this blank CD-R in a Hauschka official CD sleeve (Abandoned City if you really want to know everything). When I placed the blank CD-R in the CD player it turned out to be a rip of Mono's You Are Here album but in a different order:
2. A Heart has Asked for the Pleasure 03:43
3. Yearning 15:38
4. Are You There? 10:25
5. The Remains of the Day 03:41
6. Moonlight 13:04
1. The Flames Beyond the Cold Mountain 13:29

I don't recall that I did that, but I guess I did it on purpose. "The Flames ..." is a perfect closer, and Moonlight maybe less so. And "A Heart ..."is a very cool opener and lead-in to the fabulous Yearning.

Anyway, as a filler at the end of the disc was this one track that I couldn't tell at all what or who it was even after repeated listening. So please help me to identify the artist of this song! It's 15 minutes long and at least some of you are into this kind of music. It is cut off at the end so belongs to a large piece of an album or possibly even a live performance. I'm not giving any clues if there were any that I could think of right now, except that it's not Thurston or Lee.

ilduclo 03.18.2018 01:59 PM

well, from the 1st 30 seconds sounds like an audience recording. I can hear some heavy footed person walking across, then a couple of spots where the mic is touched to something. Wail-ey vocals at like 14 min, sounds kind of Jackie-oMF to me?

I also want to say it was on Kranky, but I sure can't find anything like that on their website today??? I remember the cover being mostly red or black with a red object on it. I listened to a soundclip and this particular track was maybe 15 minutes long and the first eight minutes were low end methodic drumming that was growing as the track progressed.
Any ideas or help will be appreciated : )

Yoshimi from Boredoms other band OOIOO put some stuff on Thrill Jockey, was it that?

Thank you all so much for your help!
Just in case you're wondering whoever it was I found out myself after repeated listening, and then some more. It's most probably keiji haino & loren mazzacane connors. But I'm still not sure at all.
