way to go alien! congratulations. :)

sorry for this

isee themistakes i know some other things dont work yet but somehow was doing it and dunno sometimes lately i think, i wonder if i m losing my focus.

!@#$%! 10.30.2014 01:25 PM

@ AA - i don't know if i'm talking out of my ass here but i like the last one you posted a lot for the color. but my favorite one so far is the triptych (or what appears as one) because of the juxtaposition of the color patterns & marks & scrawls with the very stately & symmetrical proportions of those thirds-- with lines that are also scratched/carved into the panels.

@ Nefeli - "am i losing my focus?" is exactly the right kind of question to be asking when you care about your work, no? as for the answer i don't know if you are, all i can say from where i am is how much your work has improved in the past year, how much more you're painting, and how much more dedicated you appear. i wish you never apologized. if working more means losing focus, then great! (but i don't know if you're actually losing focus-- maybe it's just a series of strategic retreats before you attack again).

==

speaking of losing focus, i made my first yogurt ever last night/this morning. came out great after some accidents. plus baked a loaf of fresh bread (haven't had an oven for over a year). i should start posting pictures here ha ha ha.

i'm serious! i actually i think i will next time. the bread was beautiful and so we ate it-- with the thick yogurt, and honey, and pomegranate grains. ephemeral art. eat your yellowed leaves, andy goldsworthy!

for tomorrow i'll try making a bread with the leftover whey. will photograph the sucker if i can remember.

Cover artwork for a 7-minute demo CD I recently compiled from my band's material so far. Unfortunately the quality got a wee bit butchered by the printing process. I was going for a very Bauhaus-y look

This would be the alternate cover

thank you for your words and taking the time to write them.
i dont talk with anyone about all that and i use this place to take it out.
saying that you see improvement, well thats what mostly i care about.
thanks again. :)

making your own food is most fulfilling! good for you.

Antagon, count rep you in previous page so..
i like the one with the fence a lot. the b&w is cool too, but the other creates even more feelings.

Thanks dude. These kind words mean a lot to me, I enjoy that you like them the way you do. I really struggle to talk about my art so its nice when someone takes the time to express their own ideas about it.

Here is one i completed today

I think I will try evolve this idea further on the next batch

Nefeli 11.02.2014 02:25 AM

n. 3

i ll work some things on that today and start a new one on a large canvas.
i shouldnt touch any other media than oils.

demonrail666 11.02.2014 03:40 AM

Really like the way the last portrait feels like a continuation of the abstracts, rather than any kind of break from them.

I reckon these'd work really well shown together.

^love them. a lot.

Antagon 11.13.2014 03:27 PM

I should spread some rep around, proper acknowledgement is due for Nefeli's consistent stream of awesomeness.
Really dig your latest stuff too, Genteel Death!

Drew this one last month.

Nefeli 11.14.2014 03:50 AM

cant rep you either..
thank you so much. really, means a lot.

Genteel Death 11.16.2014 01:08 PM

Great stuff as expected, guys. Nefeli's continuous voyage into striking beauty is unstoppable by now. Good times.

Antagon - Your illustrations always make me smile in a very good way.

Rob's foray into LP cover design was excellent SYG documentation , and it's nice to see ALIEN ANAL doing well with his exhibition.

I discovered Plips' animations too via a link he posted on another thread. Loved them.

Don't let this thread die.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PLips again.
These are pretty damn sweet. Dig them a lot!

Nefeli 11.17.2014 08:20 AM

happy as a clam you make me!

and antagon's art, what death says..its the sweetest darkness possible.

Nefeli 11.21.2014 03:20 AM

*struggling, no really struggling, this week with nudes with acrylics on paper. not really my medium. but trying to make it. yesterday tried to change coz it isnt working the way i work it. im ok today with how the arm looks.
and i see now, it will help with oils as well.
later post whole thing -if it comes out right.

not pleased. starting new one today.

that's a great song (not sure this version is the best one-- there's cover i really like but i can't remember who does it)

and you might complain all you want, but each painting here gets better. i can see it.

are those still from photographs or did you find a live model?

ps- SEU JORGE!

Nefeli 11.23.2014 04:46 PM

thank you. i get frustrated partly because the means dont help. acrylics on paper is bit..meh not working very well. for example watercolors or pastels would be better.
was listening to the song at the time and this version.. well, felt appropriate for self sarcasm reasons. and the series is amazing.
very nice the version you posted!

!@#$%! 11.23.2014 04:56 PM

he does a great version of space oddity also

so why not? i love oil pastels (regular pastels not so much). get a toothy paper and start scratchin'! i love the color papers best (blacks, greys, earth tones)

haven't seen that series or heard about it. maybe i'll check it out and will have to blame you for it ha ha ha.
