blur - 13

ok so i haven't listened to blur in absolutely ages and got around to listening to their album 13. i think it's probably one of their best and really rate it. it's really dark and brooding with great songs.

whatever you think, share your opinion of this album!

Hmm, I like Blur, and yes 13 is possibly their best album, between that and "Modern Life Is Rubbish".

I like them, they make me smile.

I've always thought the same thing! Other than this song though, I'm not a huge Blur fan. When it comes to poppy neo-british invasion music from the mid to late 90's, give me Supergrass any day.

I never understood that whole Oasis vs. Blur feud.

afterthefact 09.15.2007 11:00 AM

They didn't even sound remotely the same. They just both happened to be british bands that got kind of big in the US for a bit, and some people felt the need to compare them, as some people tend to do.

SynthethicalY 09.15.2007 11:01 AM

I know, Oasis sounds way to Different then blur. To me both are okay, nothing spectacular.

Graham Coxon got the inspiration for the riff from Sonic Youth's Sunday, now that you mention it. There are quite a few stinkers on this one, but two or three good songs too. The one he wrote about his split with Justin Frischmann of Elastica is such a lacrimose song, they should have put it out as a single for St Valentine or some such wimpy celebration of one's feelings for another person.

odd, I haven't been on this board in 15 hours, but this was the only thing that came up when I clicked on "new posts"... could it be that... nah.
