It's a new action 2D game for consoles as well as PC and it's just mindblowing! Oldschool graphics kind of sucks however the gameplay is brilliant.

how varied is the combat?

Tons of weapons to unlock. Melee, ranged, traps, however you wanna go.

Severian 09.22.2018 12:12 PM

I beat Injustice: Gods Among Us like six months ago, but I keep playing in tournament mode to see if I can crack the top 10 in a season.

Never have. Got a nice team of characters that are maxed out on power and health and have unlocked hidden promotions (X) and level (60). Not sure why I’m still playing it. Possibly because Injustice 2 sucks.

Need a new game. One I can play from my phone.

Oh, wait, you mean in terms of what I’m looking for? Sure. Puzzle or whatever. Something that lets me tune out but tune in at the same time.

Game meditation.

Don't play too many phone games...but Block Puzzle is my current puzzle game. Nothing crazy, but lets me kill time pretty easily.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.23.2018 02:27 PM

I can finish Deus Ex: HR tonight. Just finishing up the Missing Link DLC portion of the Director's Cut rn. So annoying, I hate the "hey we stripped you of all your gear and upgrades so now play through this level bare-bones and let's see how good at the game you really are" tactic.

But maaaan do I need to step away from my computer and take care of some responsibilities today.

Looking forward to starting Mankind Divided immediately after.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.25.2018 02:07 PM

After beating Human Revolution, I've decided I should play something before jumping into Mankind Divided to avoid burnout.

Might as well clear Undertale out of the backlog. 2 hours in, and I can't believe how funny and surreal this game is so far.

Totally living up to the hype rn.

noisereductions 09.25.2018 06:15 PM

Yeah it's cool. I played it when it first hit PC, and just grabbed the Switch version as well.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.25.2018 07:59 PM

Plus the OST is simply outstanding. Amazing that one guy wrote, designed, and scored all this.

The brilliance of Undertale is that it's constantly giving you something new to do, and a new way to play. The game also likes to play tricks on you to keep ou on your toes throughout. Also that battle system is so much fun. Very clever, and I appreciate how contextual all the interactions within it are.

5 hours in now.

noisereductions 09.26.2018 07:49 AM

Yeah I feel like there's a lot of fourth wall breaking and the game fucking with the gamer.

I started Undertale and played awhile. I really was digging it, but got distracted and moved onto something else. I need to pick it back up and finish it.

The music is very well done in it too.

choc e-Claire 10.23.2018 12:19 AM

I think Undertale has given me more moments of sheer joy than any first-time playthrough. Portal 2 a close second.

The Sims is always good, I've spent far too long playing number three. Stopped my old game after moving in with the Working Friends household, I didn't want to have to control five people.

And of course there's all the time I've wasted playing shit like AdVenture Capitalist

tw2113 10.23.2018 12:43 AM

Mentally working myself up to do a runthrough of all 3 Metroid Prime games. It's been awhile.

EVOLghost 10.23.2018 09:39 PM

H1Z1 fun battle royal game. I enjoy it more than Fortnite...

Rob Instigator 10.25.2018 08:22 AM

I am just waiting to get me some forza horizon 4.

Peterpuff 10.31.2018 07:37 PM

Likely picking up Red Dead Redemption 2 this weekend. Hearing stellar reviews. Anyone here played it yet and have any feedback?

Toby Fox has pretty much just released Deltarune (Chapter 1), which is set in the same universe. I'm not going to say much more about it, but you can download it free (yes, free).

It's got the sense of humour you'd expect from him. I enjoyed the way that your SOUL interacts with the environment in some areas, and all the nods to the first game are pretty cool. But I'm not too fond of the way the combat works - I know it's a logical progression, but the first game was much better for it.

Has anyone tried the Call of Cthulhu video game that was released a few days ago? I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Great story.

Finished Metroid Prime yesterday, started Metroid Prime 2 today. It's been a good time :D

Rob Instigator 11.12.2018 09:15 AM

My wife got me Forza Horizon 4 for our anniversary. awesomeeeee

Dr. Eugene Felikson 11.26.2018 04:25 PM

About four hours into Grandia 2 now.I'm playing the HD re-release on Steam.

I never got around to this game when it was originally on Dreamcast. While some of the anime art, and voice acting can be less than to my tastes, I must say that something about the characters and the way they interact with one another has really resonated with me. I didn't expect to get into the story of this game on an emotional level. I'm just a big softie overall, I guess.

Also the combat is top-tier and very fun. Maybe I've been grinding a bit much but overall the game has been very easy so far. I'm hoping for a bump in challenge as I progress further into the campaign.

How's MP2 coming along? I've always wanted to get into the MP games. I've played through both Super Metroid, and Fusion but MP got annoying quickly with all the scanning. Is that stuff essential to the game?

I really wish Octopath was coming to Steam... i LOOOOVE that art style

New Smash looks sick af too... and Mario Odyssey. I just can't justify buying another console when there's still so many games on Steam I've yet to play. Not like I'd ever take advantage of the thing's portability.

EVOLghost 11.26.2018 09:53 PM

Honestly...the portability is what officially sold me on it. Now that I'm travelling more(because of family n shit), I wanted a handheld...but couldn't justify buying a Gameboy or PSP....this was perfect...and this is the first Nintendo I've had since the Gamecube...and even then...I only really had that for smash...shit...this is the first new Nintendo console I've bought. Honestly...I'm excited for Smash....I don't play it seriously, but still exciting to see everyone in it.

This is great...I love how Steam works. I wish I had bought more before....I missed out on some sweet Humble Bundles....

Finished it this weekend, i think Saturday. I don't worry too much about all the lore/log filling scanning, and focus most on the needed scanning only. Meh @ 100% logging.

I'm a good chunk of the way through Metroid Prime 3 already as well. It's fairly guided and less exploration by necessity.

Oh yeah. See, I never travel so the only time I really would use mine would either be on my TV or like the toilet or something haha. But if you stay in the city and whatnot, I couldn't imagine a better timewaster for subway transports.

Autumn sale ends at like 3pm eastern tomorrow. I'm trying so hard not to splurge.

But yeah i'm just so glad that a lot of these Japanese games are finally getting PC ports. They recently brought both Yakuza 0 and Killer7 over - Chrono Trigger too! It's nuts, man. I'd buy Street Fighter so you could kick my ass in it... but it's $40 still

Yeah, I've never been much of a completionist, but I've always wanted to get around to this trilogy. I've heard nothing but great things. You playing on a Wii?

I've got all the gear to get my Wii remote to work w/ my PC... just gotta figure out how to make my emulator detect everything.

Hmmmm...

tw2113 11.26.2018 11:12 PM

Yep, my brother picked up a wii game that has all 3 games on it. First two are adapted from the GameCube to work with Wii, 3rd one was made for Wii from the getgo.
