It makes me laugh how the "kids" are now wearing hairdos like De La Soul used to back during 3 feet high.....

I always loved the "Oh My God" remix. The beat is just amazing. So much more jazz. Then there's the super rare remix that has only Know Naim rapping on it. Whom to my knowledge never recorded another track. "I raise mad Hell so you can call me daddy"

new Travis Scott featuring Future and 2 Chainz: http://www.missinfo.tv/index.php/tra...ture-2-chainz/

i'm feeling this. surprisingly 2 Chainz channeled his 2012 and came up with the best verse.

Rodeo coming soon. i'm excited, Days Before Rodeo was one of my fav projects last year and if it was just a bunch of leftovers from Rodeo then this album is gonna be insane.

louder 06.08.2015 04:52 AM

also i just revisited Yeezus last weekend and it's still a 10/10 album for me.

i'm wondering if Kanye was a fan of Bang 2 / Almighty So because there's nothing on Finally Rich that sounds like Keef's hook on Hold My Liquor..

Ice Cube reveals plans for NWA live reunion, hints at Dr Dre's involvement

"It's just gonna be a great night," Ice Cube told Rolling Stone. "It's just gonna be one of those 'I wish I were there in LA nights.' And we're gonna rock that shit, no problem."

Special guests Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Schoolboy Q have been announced, with fellow NWA members MC Ren and DJ Yella signing up for the show also. Dr Dre has not yet been confirmed, but Ice Cube hinted at his involvement, saying: "You know, if you wish upon a star, you never know." If all four surviving members do reform, it will be their first performance together in 26 years.

NWA formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1991. The group's fifth member Eazy-E passed away in 1995. The band had a partial reunion in 2000, but Yella was not involved.

Speaking to NME, Ice Cube was asked if making the film might inspire either a studio reunion or even a live comeback.

"I'd say don't rule anything out," he replied. "It could happen. Hopefully doing this record project will inspire Dre to make more records again. I think the movie will remind a lot of people the importance of who we were and what we did – including us. We're here to give the people what they want so who knows what will happen after the movie."

What I wouldn't give to be at this gig.

I've got my grubby mits on Hudson Mohawke's Lantern and I've gotta say, I'm fucking impressed. His production is clearly evolving, and there are a few tracks here that would be totally at home on one of Kanye's more ambitious projects. Really hoping HudMo is a big part of the new album, because I'm telling you, the more this guy grows the more epic his shit gets.

I think this record is going to be quite big.

Stankonia.. i almost forgot how good is this album. i didn't like it that much back in the day, now it's my fav Kast album. it's funny that a lot of people think of it as their "sellout" album because of Ms. Jackson, while the rest of the album is exactly the opposite. easily their most challenging, experimental album.

Uhh.. Are we having a forgotten treasures moment here or something? Forgive me, I've been dabbling in other threads this week. Catch me up.

Seriously? I had my doubts before it was released. The marketing campaign was HUGE, and I was in Europe in the months preceding the release, startled to find promo posters, like, in the basement of the Louvre, for an absurdly titled southern U.S. hip hop group. It was exciting, but a little ominous. But the singles hit me right in the brain. Ms. Jackson was and is one of the best singles ever.

"Do you like the taste of gasoline?
Well burn motherfucker,
Burn American dreams"

Fuck yeah, challenging. And awesome. I doubt people were expecting the album to open like that. Ha!

noisereductions 06.08.2015 08:00 PM

Stankonia is dope. The only bad outkast album is Idlewild. A brilliant career of course.

louder 06.08.2015 11:06 PM

yeah Mr. Jackson is one of their best songs, don't get me wrong. i just noticed that it gives some people the wrong impression about the album.

i don't know, i just die inside a little every time i see that someone said something along the lines of "OutKast sold out".

louder 06.08.2015 11:10 PM

in fact, the only time they were really close to what you can consider selling out was their reunion tour from last year, according to Andre himself anyway: http://pitchfork.com/news/57709-andr...-reunion-tour/

sad.

Yeah, don't remind me of that depressing fiasco. Reading Andre's comments after the fact really killed the vibe for me. I went from "pleasegodletoutkastreuniteanddropanalbum!" to just being completely over it in the span of a few minutes. Now I wish them well in whatever remains of their solo careers (if indeed anything does remain).

Still love OutKast, like, big time, now and forever. But their time has passed.

louder 06.09.2015 01:07 AM

yeah.. but i'm still convinced that Andre will drop that solo album one day. it might take a few more years but one day we'll get it.

Rob Instigator 06.11.2015 04:26 PM

Geto Boys' Willie D doesn’t much give a fuck.“Hip-hop is fuckin’ fake,” the rapper charges. “Hip-hop is ghost, man. It’s way too easy to get into the game, and that’s what it’s so diluted. Biting used to be a cardinal sin in hip-hop. Now it’s celebrated. You couldn’t go out there and try to sound like Lil’ Wayne. Fans would clown you. You couldn’t eat trying to sound like Kanye! The fans wouldn’t let you eat! Now, these motherfuckers will let anybody eat off the plate.”
