Anyway, point is, in that film the natural gas industry asserts itself so strongly in one small town that they control every possible variable, including hiring a henchman to pretend to be the "local environmentalist presence" to fiercely protest their practices, and even gain the town's support, only to be (deliberately and publicly) discredited, leading the town to toss aside any and all reservations about fracking on their farmland because the main opposing protestor was driven out of town by the shame of his (planned) public humiliation.
