i think this is pretty likely too. helen and eye liner were maybe working titles a la Magick Chord and Celtic Frost, or going way back Dinosaur (Wombats!), Non-Metal Dude, they are beyond notorious for these!

I really hope Lee does Reena and gets the opening track.

I think "Do you believe in rapture" will be one of the singles, because that was the psuedo name for the album

i do too! Paper Cup Exit was awesome but it was buried at the end of the album. i kind of think of Reena as a good Thurston or Kim song too...just in case it isn't Lee's. ;)

Yeah, that would be pretty amazing. I think Lee got better and better as Sonic Youth progressed. Personally I like his newer stuff more than his older stuff

maybe new mixtape is coming before new lp with some new tracks on it.

man I can't wait. I just got the ep re today and the first drum strikes of burning spear hit me just like the first I spun it in my car. I turned it up to 25, rolled my windows downs and cruised... to work... which sucked, but the ride lasted thru the ep... and then on the way home, live... and it was awesome.
ANd that is what joy i will have when rapture comes out. HUzzah!

Or's a Thurston song for sure... played it at the flywheel solo. Its real pretty. Acoustic guitar w/ very atmospheric delay (?) on it. Its minimalistic and short but could be expanded to have a real long ambient outro kind of Diamond Sea thing if they really want to. Man, I kind of hope they keep some of the acoustic parts that thurston played acoustic. Particularly on Or and Do You Believe in rapture. They sounded real pretty at that live show and I'd love to see a Sonic Youth record with a nice sober balance of acoustic and electric guitars. They've nver had a record like that because its not really their style. But I'd like to see a kind of thoughtful approach to more diverse instruments on this record. Like Neil Young or David Bowie kind of. It would be something real new and show a bit maturity.

Or they could just rock my scrotum to shreds and that would work too.

Thanks for the tracklisting. My guess is that the album will leak in the next month or so (as is the case with just about any "indie" band nowadays). Can't wait for the tour and the record to be reased on vinyl, oh and also, I think there will be more than just one Lee song, usually its one per side of the record.
