Haven't played it in yearsssss. But yeah, it was fun.

nobye-noaloha 03.06.2008 09:12 AM

vinyl rules, cd sucks

nicfit 03.06.2008 09:12 AM

yeah, internet sucks too.
I wonder if all the "cd-haters" do not own portable player, don't like to take a stroll with headphones, make long travels by train/car and so on. But this thread is not about this kind of things.

no kidding, man. I love vinyl. I own plenty of SY vinyl. But I also listen to CD's far more. With a CD I can easily listen in my car (I have an almost 2 hour commute every day). But for some reason that means I'm not hip I guess?

i agree but i have (like you) plenty of cd's to listen in my car, train, plane, walk, cabient...
That's a good thing for this only vinyl release, you'll be able to listne only in your quiet room and you'll have to turn the side, to take care of what you listen.
It's not hipe, it's just nice

su x* 03.06.2008 09:54 AM

im still getting through syr1 and 4

but eventually, how am i gonna mininova it if its not on cd? pick up your act...

now, this is a much more agreeable post than your previous one :D.
but still, i will keep a mp3 ripped version in my player, just in case I feel the urge to listen to it somewhere outside my house :).

it was not unagrable, it was sarcastic honey
i'm sure you'll get it on mp3 before the legal available date

yeah, but do you use the original cd for that purpose?
or
do you rather use a cd-r copy? or an mp3 player?

cd's are condemned to death.
what made them special, their practical use, is no longer practical.

most people looking for a practical music format get mp3's.

other's looking out for something rather than practical use go for vinyl.

the only physical music format that increased its unit sales over the last years has been vinyl records.

I do not own a portable player.
I do not like to take strolls with headphones
I make long travels by car and listen to CD's in the car

I still hate CD's with a passion, flimsy plastic shits.

nicfit 03.06.2008 10:18 AM

I prefer to buy the original cd and rip it.
I wouldn't buy mp3s or flacs.
Since I like to give my money to sy I'd prefer to have the chance to choose a format that suits my personal needs, that's all.
Saying that cds will die is true, but I doubt it will happen really fast.
sorta tv vs internet thing, maybe.

oh yeah, i'll be the first.
I don't want that you can't hear it.
i have no anger against anybody, i don't even know you
it is just that it is a shame for you that you will be able to listen to it only on a mp3 version, you just have to buy a cheap turntable and i'm sure you'll will use it later.
if you buy one, you'll buy vinyl more and more and you won't regret

I know, I was just talking about my "usual habits" when buying music.
Most likely I'll buy it even if at present time I don't even have a turntable, see that other syr7 thread for other thoughts (if I didn't bore you to tears yet ha ha).
