The setlist doesn't match with the 2003 06 26 recording avaiable. Is there any chance you can upload it somewhere/shomehow? (Ingram's FTP, Dime, Zomb. Rapidshare, etc)?

I hope I understand the thread correctly -but-
Yesterday I found a cool digipak called "Hits Are For Squares" it's 15 Sonic Youth tracks picked by various musicians/actors/writers/artists, and there's one "exclusive new Sonic Youth recording" the name of that is "Slow Revolution."
The picks are great, with commentary on each song by the picker.
It's on Starbucks Entertainment! Here's something from the back cover explaining the label name:
"Starbucks Entertainment is dedicated to helping people discover great music. We handpick the music you hear in Starbucks coffeehouses and create unique compilations and new recordings you can't find anywhere else."

I hope this isn't an unauthorized release, that would be awful, but I doubt it is.

Heh. There's quite a few threads discussing it already.

antnyh, thanks for the input. As others have pointed out, there have been other threads about this. No harm. No foul.

And don't worry, most of the boarders here are really nice. So just maybe read thru some of the last few pages of posts to catch up. Welcome!

Couple of small comments regarding the Flower/Satan Is Boring 12":

The etchings mentioned in the discog are slightly wrong - the Flower side has "To Cody R and all sonic suns" while the Satan side has ""Noise Glorious The Sonic Soul Love Brian".

Also, Brother James can be added to the setlist for the Rotterdam gig that Satan Is Boring probably comes from - you can hear them going into it as the track fades out.

Wow!! The tape is actually printed on. We need better scans of the cover, and for someone to pinpoint the date. That's awesome.

stu666 10.17.2008 07:57 AM

no way is it worth the $19.99 starting bid though, not even $1.99 imo

greedrex 10.17.2008 08:37 AM

^^^is that some kind of best of or a live bootleg?

blunderbuss 10.17.2008 08:52 AM

There is no show that features all of the first three tracks on that tape, so I would guess that it's a dodgy compilation.

noisereductions 10.17.2008 09:00 AM

It must be a live boot. My guess.

Now that you mention it, I dnt think they ever did "Superstar" live. Good call. I really wasnt looking at the tracklist closely before. Must be a cheapo comp.

radarmaker 10.17.2008 09:04 AM

Discogs has no record of "Damage Rekords" under that spelling, and none of the entries for Damage or Damage Records fit.
Google just comes up with a bunch of similar tapes from the same Malaysian seller - all apparantly "Made in Germany", but presumably Asian pirates/boots in reality. I'd imagine that local copyright laws (or lack of) enable them to get away with pressing them commercially.
