Currently promoting the release of her brand new memoir Girl In A Band, Kim Gordon recently took part in San Francisco's Jewish Community Center's Arts & Ideas lecture series, sitting down for a hour-long conversation with Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein. In addition to talking about the book, which looks back at the Sonic Youth member's life as a musician, mother, and wife to ex-husband and bandmate Thurston Moore, the two women chatted about the difficult process of writing the book itself, what it means to be a woman in a band, Instagram, and whether they actually consider themselves musicians.
