Dim Stars

as far as i remember there was already a thread about this 'band'
but i couldnt find it.
i think this is my fav. Thurston side project, its such a cool record.
i only have it on mp3 cause i cant find it anywhere. does anyone know
on wich label it came out?

if anyone has not heard it and likes classic punk/rock/blues vibes then get it asap! superb stuff!

I believe the label was Caroline. And yes, that record really did kick ass.

Dead-Air 03.09.2007 12:20 AM

Yes, it was a classic band, and I wish they'd reunite and do some more. It was the best thing to involve Richard Hell in many years. It was on Caroline, and you can buy it from Amazon for a pittance.

Yeah, I like that album a lot. Even if Stop Breakin' Down is maybe the lamest attemp by Thurston at coming over all "street punk."

Iain 03.10.2007 09:35 AM

Really, I thought the Dim Stars record was quite lame.

RdTv 03.10.2007 09:46 AM

I have yet to hear the album in its entirety.

sarramkrop 03.12.2007 04:19 AM

Dim album.I have only played it once and never listened to it ever again.

sonicl 03.12.2007 04:27 AM

It's on three different labels, depending on where in the world you're buying. It was on Paperhouse in the UK, I think.

Toilet & Bowels 03.13.2007 05:31 PM

i listened to this in a record shop and din't buy it because it rubbish, it was crap like this that put me off investigating SY solo stuff for some years actually

iskandertime 03.13.2007 10:35 PM

I'll admit that the LP is spotty over all, but the remake of The Voidoids' "Downtown At Dawn" kicks ass on the original, and "Monkey Love" is a great song, despite the creppy lyrics. Bob Quine provides extra guitar on a few tracks.
