"the dude some bloggers call [the George Harrison of Sonic Youth' is reaching some comparably superb All Things Must Past-esque heights...these songs spread, shift, transform, and soar"

listening to the stream, fucking shit, I really like this record. I like the jerry garcia sounding envelope filter leads, the jangly acoustic, the patented Steve drum work, a jammy and grooving feel, sort of like if Rather Ripped was played by a Sonic Youth jam band. Fantastic, I think this is better than Body/Head and that Chelsea Light Moving record and I don't usually like Lee solo records better

I've listened to the whole thing for one time. I don't remember any song.

I'm totally with you on this... really digging this record.

I don't know that I could articulate a "defense" to the folks who don't like it - but that's okay... I just really dig it.

Its true but it surprisngly works! I didn't realize the R.E.M. sound with the acoustics until it was just pointed out in that review

I agree. I couldn't defend it, but I'm just feeling it. Personally, I feel like its the first Lee solo record where I'm also totally digging the vocals, I like to lowered sound with some reverbish sound, it fills out Lee's voice without overpowering. its a solid record.

I knew that one, thx anyway, but I would rather go to a 'normal' gig of the master himself. ;)

Listening to this record again today, it sounds like Lee is having more fun than in a long time. This project sounds fun, creative, interesting, and I just like the production on Lee's vocals better than like anything in twenty years!

I've been listening to the album a lot the last few days and I agree with those who say that it seems Lee is having a lot of fun and is exploring his creativity. This album is just a joy to listen too. It makes me smile just listening to it.

It seems that Lee feels almost more comfortable now that his band has played a deeper role in the creation of the album. I'll be playing this one for a long time on a regular basis, I'm sure of that.

I'm listening to this album now again and it sounds better than in first time I listened to it. Maybe I should buy this and give it a try.

Agreed, soon as its on Amazon MP3 I'm snagging it up! I don't buy CDs anymore, and I don't fuck with iTunes, so I wait for Amazon for better or worse.. I like their system and how it works.

For now, I'm fucking happy as hell with that stream!! Such a good record, I will definitely grab it along with a few others I am waiting for to come online..
