Good band, some of the songs feel a bit too long but all in all I like it quite a bit.

Warpaint will be playing a live session on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on March 2. Those of you who are able to listen to this station might not wanna miss it. Here's the details, taken from KCRW's website:

Warpaint
WED MAR 2, 2011
Host: Jason Bentley

The ladies who make up LA's Warpaint have been getting a lot of attention and rave reviews for their music. KCRW DJ's have been on the frontlines sharing those songs, and we can't wait to hear them live on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am

You must spread some reputation around blah blah...

Torn Curtain 03.02.2011 08:40 AM

A little criticism I could make though: band members seem to be a bit full of themselves (the bassist especially...).

How so?

Anyway, a recording of the KCRW session is now up at dimeadozen:

Thats what I felt in the interviews and some live performances on youtube (especially old ones, before the album was put out), but now I'm wondering if they weren't just drunk or stoned...

EDIT: to be fair anyway at least the drummer (the last member to join the band) looks totally modest in interviews.

I gotta chance to see them, sounds like its a recommended show? the couple things I heard on Myspace was saying no go to me.,,,,,,

ilduclo 03.03.2011 02:07 PM

it's 3/17 so I got a couple of days to decide, sure, put me up one, and many thanks!

No problem.

Check the last page of the bootlegs thread.

Hope you enjoy.

ilduclo 03.06.2011 01:27 PM

wal, I'd say theres more than a bit of delay pedal abuse. I think I'll likely see them anyways since they are playing with a couple of other bands who are of minor interest......Pivot and Yeltsin...

I don't think they use delay that much, but lately they seem to use chorus much more than they used to, maybe they should tone it down a bit. I'm not an effect expert so maybe I'm talking crap though :D

Derek 03.07.2011 07:55 AM

The hugely delayed, reverbed layers are part of their sound.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 03.07.2011 10:49 PM

Warpaint are great
I know Emily and Jen IRL, and they are super sweet girls

Derek 03.08.2011 05:22 AM

So if you know Emily IRL... you perhaps know or have met John Frusciante?

hevusa 03.21.2011 11:58 AM

I think I'm in LUV. Warpaint blew girl "supergroup" Wild Flag out of the water in Seattle last night. Way better live than on record.

Keeping It Simple 03.21.2011 12:01 PM

I wouldn't say Warpaint are shoegaze though.

Torn Curtain 04.06.2011 10:59 AM

This sounds a lot like Warpaint (and there is indeed a massive use of delay / echo):

Warpaint are obvious Cure and Siousxie fans.

I'm missing this recording. I thought i had downloaded it, but it turns out i never did. Either that, or i lost it somehow (unlikely). If somebody please could re-upload the .flac files to Sendspace or any other server, i would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance.

I'm hooked on Warpaint. Enjoyed very much their performances in Late Night With Jools Holland, and also the video of the show at Rolling Stone Weekender. Seems like they will be playing in Mexico City on September 9. I look forward to seeing them live. At the moment, i'm needing more DVD's. Hopefully some more will make it to dime soon.
