+1 on Rhys Chatham, C Palestine and W Basinski
Also am tempted to the Demdike Stare whatsit, but of course Steven "Fucking" Severin might turn up to that - I sure look forward to avoiding him there.

I'll be at Chatham / Palestine / Basinski too, and maybe Laraaji etc. I would have gone to Wolfgang Voigt, but it's the same night as The Julie Ruin.

Second campaign will start in a few days. I briefly thought about backing the first one, but ended up not doing so. Small chance I might still decide on going later on, but everyone in London should go for sure.

So did anyone go to this? How was it?

Toilet & Bowels 03.01.2014 09:15 PM

I went both nights, for some reason the second night was much better than the first, Hijokaidan and Junko's sets were all brilliant, Hatsune Kaidan was a pile of wank. Out of the people whose music I didn't know Yumiko Tanaka was the one I liked the most. Dora Video and Pain Jerk did a great set together, as did T.Mikawa and Tetuzi Akiyama, Toshimaru Nakamura missed the second night because I injured his right eyeball. But yeah, Junko's solo set on the first night and Hijokaidan on the second were the best. Total arse rippers.

Just literally got this e-mail from Cafe Oto:

We're thrilled to welcome Yoko Ono back to Cafe OTO for two very special performances - A trio with Thurston Moore and Steve Shelley next Saturday (22 March) and an NYC-style late night set the following Tuesday (25 March) with Nels Cline and Talvin Singh.

Obviously, this is an incredibly rare opportunity to see one of the most important figures of the twentieth century avant-garde/counter-culture in such an intimate setting.

The ticket links below will be added to our website later today, but we wanted to give email subscribers some advance warning as these are likely to go pretty fast.

I can't believe this sold out so fast. I didn't manage to get a ticket. If anyone has a spare I would pay double the price for it.

If the word "meh" didn't exist it would have to be invented in order to describe my feelings about Yoko Ono.

pad_023 03.18.2014 02:33 PM

Er yeah so it looks like I am going to be DJing at the Carlton Melton/Sleepy Sun show, come down and laugh at my second rate song selection...
