I hear it's wicked, and from what I've heard myself, the vocals are way more tame compared to older stuff.
I'm going to the Arcade Fire in May... other thn that, not too much... waiting on a Varge! tour kick-off soon, though...

Dead-Air 04.03.2007 08:14 PM

Seeing Crank Sturgeon this Friday night here in Portland. Then he's crashing on my couch to play on my radio show the next day.

Then I'm also having a couple other bands on including Seattle's Joy Wants Eternity who are extremely good shoegazer types. Then my band the Dead Air Fresheners is opening for them that night at ACME. Probably not getting a lot of sleep this weekend.

Likely, not a lot of other shows until the 13th Annual Olympia Experimental Music Festival, which I'm playing at as well as helping book.

I don't seem to be able to just go see bands without getting over the top involved any more...

It's probably pretty boring and ridiculously like everything else they've put out. I'm going for the live performance. Locust kick ass live.

Katy 04.04.2007 12:34 AM

IAMX this friday (6th), Pete Doherty at the Hackney Empire next week, CocoRose on the 15th, Espers at Dingwalls (24th?), Cat Power at The Forum on the 1st of May, Deerhoof at KOKO on the 2nd, Patti Smith at the Roundhouse on May 17th, Lou Reed doing Berlin on June 1st...

Don't know about festivals. Still up in the air.

I'd love to go and see REM in Dublin at the beginning of July but I'll have to wait and see how broke i am.

Oh and Sonic Youth at the end of August, obviously.
