String Quartet's tribute to Sonic Youth
Except for Wish Fulfillment they did a pretty good job I think |
LP. Got it used today for 8 bucks. (well, a friend bought it for me) and it is superb. I now realise just how badly the Raveonettes rip them off (i like them though)
***fuck you "attached thumbnails"... |
I've finally got round to making a certain fellow boardie the Gaye Bykers on Acid mixtape that was promised a not inconsiderablely time ago (:o), so I'm giving that a run through. It's bloody good, mind.
|
i've never heard these Gaye Bykers on Acid. what would you call the music?
*im off for a bit.. ill check this later though.. have a good one. |
English post-post-punk, I suppose, from the mid-1980's. Some great tunes and a wicked sense of humour.
"The fabulous Gaye Bykers On Acid have few sacred cows and a fairly flexible agenda" |
ahhh i figured they were some kind of semi-ironic dance group or something hahahaa. maybe i'll try to czech them out somehow...
|
They weren't dance, but they had several alter-egos, one of whom (PFX) were dance. They were also a supposedly East German punk band called Rektum and also they occaisionally went by the name Lesbian Dopeheads on Mopeheads.
They made a film to go with their first LP. If I could convert tape to DVD I'd happily post a load out. But I can't. |
haha. thats alright, my friend. youtube, anyone? (meaning, im gonna look for 'em on youtube.)
|
ouh! i'm likin'!
|
Did you watch the vid for 'Git Down'? That's from the film.

>From a poison well >Let's turn the record over >Talking to Mary (Elliotts final version) >True Love (Elliotts final version, this song BELONGS on 'from a basement on the hill' that album is incomplete without it) |
