Einstuerzende Neubauten - alles was irgendwie nutzt
It's a double CD of live recordings between 1981 and 2000, compiled by subscribers to their supporter project with the band's help, and only available to subscribers to the supporter project. And it's brilliant. |

(one of the best covers ever!!!!) |
Neds Atomic Dustbin - God Fodder again. Neds Atomic Dustbin are one of those bands I go for a while without listening to, then for whatever reason I put on and remember how ace they were. Totally enjoyable, truly an excellent debut LP:
|
And the Neds are back! I saw them on the local news last week looking and sounding pretty...well...much the same as before!
|
Yeah, there's some short live clips on youtube too!
But will it be as good? That's the question. She'll break some hearts when she grows up, She'll break some hearts when she owns up Mine is one. I like that lyric. I think they did some classic singles - everything from God Fodder, obviously, plus Not Sleeping Around and the super Trust. The video for Trust isn't on youtube, which is a shame - it was some kind of plagiaristic tribute to 'The Banana Splits', if one recalls correctly. |
Neds Atomic Dustbin is an awesome band name, and, from wikipedias article, sound like a pretty good band.
I'll have to check them out. |
I must admit, I never really got into them, but I had friends who thought they were the dog's bollocks. as a result I saw them live a few times and they were a great live band. Number 1 best-selling t-shirts for quite a while after they split, fact fans!
But, yes great name. I was in a band at college called Cold Sick Canary In A Dustbin, by the way. |
Skullflower - This is....

Yes indeed. I have only heard a few Skullflower things but they have all been damn good. I think I might like Sunroof! better which is one of Matthew Bowers many other projects. As is often the case, I think Mr Savage Clone would be a good one to ask for further Skullflower recommendations. The recent-ish one they did, Orange Canyon Mind, is really good. I could do with further recommendations as well though. |
