SONIC GAIL 02.23.2014 01:07 PM

For those of you that give a fuck

I am actually happy for the first time I can remember:D
Ditched my husband who was bringing me down.....and I am now FREEEEEE!!!! I finally have control over my addictions and have reclaimed my life. I don't work in a cubicle anymore, I make money with my art and old lady crafting obsessions. Meet the new and improved SONIC GAIL.

Not sure why I always end up coming back here...yall are like family I suppose.

EVOLghost 02.23.2014 01:10 PM

Glad to hear yer happy! Hope everything continues to be well for you.

SONIC GAIL 02.23.2014 01:17 PM

glad to see yr still here....I missed this place

Derek 02.23.2014 01:40 PM

Awesome! =^.^=

Pookie 02.23.2014 02:01 PM

Excellent news. I'm not sure why we all keep coming back here when the ones I like most I have contact with other places. Then again I've been coming here for 8 years so it would be hard to break the habit now.

I also need some way to stalk the people who've rejected my Facebook requests.

_slavo_ 02.23.2014 03:24 PM

you ditched your husband, Gail?

well, if you think it was deserved, then I'm glad for you.

Good look for finding a new man soon!

Nefeli 02.23.2014 04:12 PM

good for you girl.
everything is gonna be fine.

pony 02.23.2014 05:28 PM

glad that you're happy again, mum!
hope the kids are well and cute as always (they sure got it from their mama)

MellySingsDoom 02.23.2014 06:51 PM

Great to hear that you're happy, motivated and fulfilled.
Keep on keeping on!

floatingslowly 02.23.2014 06:58 PM

the path to true happiness is never easy.

I know this all too well.

that said, I'm CRUSHED to hear that I'm not one of Pookie's favo(u)rites.

:(

Genteel Death 02.23.2014 07:16 PM

Great news. If you're happy, I'm happy.

It was long overdue. I will always have a place for him in my heart I am just not giving him the power to keep me in a very dark place for a very long time.

Being single is fuckin awesome!!! First time in 20 years....I am in no hurry

Nefeli 03.01.2014 01:46 PM

i m sorry, but its been bothering me; apart from the posts where people have been clear about disagreeing to a divorce, i ve been sensing, lets say a non approval in some other posts as well.
and i simply dont get it.
of course everyone wished you well etc.

how can someone have an opinion on 2 other people getting a divorce, or for the idea of it itself. i can understand there are reasons, probably related to religion or smth, but still.
do you feel the same when people break a relationship, but not a marriage? (rhetorical).

Nefeli 03.01.2014 01:59 PM

yes, i understand that.

'why get married in the 1st place'- thats rhetorical too i guess..
people dont believe that they will get divorced..or whatever reasons and situations take place as every couple has its own story.
and surely a divorce isnt taken lightly by anyone. it is traumatic for all people involved, no matter what.

dead_battery 03.01.2014 02:40 PM

marriage is a bond (fixed income agreement)

that too.

i have long accepted my inner battle of being cynical and hopelessly romantic.
so i can say that i dont think i agree with the idea of marriage either. at least not as it is lived by most people.
at the same time, i believe it has a great meaning. i mean, there is a greatness about it.
but then again how it will evolve, or even the reasons one gets to it in the first place, depends on their mentality.

i thought of susan sontag now and that quote: in marriage every desire becomes a decision.
i should read her on marriage.

Indeed. My own divorce (after 24 years) was as amicable as they get and we are still close, but it was still the most emotionally devastating thing I have ever gone through.
I certainly didn't think it would ever happen in my life, but it did.

Can't imagine how much worse it is for people who have an ugly split.

A Thousand Threads 03.01.2014 06:03 PM

It's good to hear you are doing fine!

as for the love/marriage/relationship topic,
don't let yourself get too attached to another person...
no good for you, no good for the other person
no bueno

making marriage be "about the children" is shit for everyone involved. it should be about mutual trust, respect, and admiration. I'm not going to go into detail about my divorce, but my current marriage is the bee's fucking knees.

I'd toss out a "how dare you" disagree with gail's decision to leave her husband, but...whatever trips yr trigger.

as long as yr happy and content. rock on Sonic Gail!!!

I don't agree with it either. I was raised Catholic and even though I do not practice any particular "religion" I do view marriage as something very sacred. That being said I was also raised to stand up for myself and not allow someone to take advantage of my kindness and good intentioned efforts. At some point you have to sacrifice one belief in order to fulfill another. When I realized who I had become over the years and found a way to change it I did.

xo

dont really agree with marriage anyway. so... wish sonic cute gail a good life...

Ditch that CATHOLIC BLOCK. It is a hard yoke to bear.

every marriage that i've known that has went well was all about the raising of the kids. my parents and me included. there something to say within that but not much else.

let's not discourage sonic gail. she made a decision like everyone else and she feels good about it. that's all that matters. i say rock on!!!

and godspeed!!!!

My decision was pushed by my love of the kids and their future. Most of you guys could see how out of control I had become and this was fueled by my husband. He held me back from being the mom and person I know I can be. I was left to choose him or the kids. They win everytime;)

SONIC GAIL 03.01.2014 06:44 PM

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to floatingslowly again.

thats a myth. having kids doesnt save or help a marriage.
on the other hand, if you are in a good relationship already, having and raising kids surely evolves and takes the relationship is a different level. <--erase that. might be a myth as well. it depends.

Savage Clone 03.02.2014 02:17 AM

I do not like or want kids. My marriage had nothing to do with procreation and I truly believe that is a huge reason why it lasted two and a half decades.

floatingslowly 03.02.2014 04:33 AM

yeah...b-b-but you should see my kid dance when Black Galleys comes on...

Nefeli 03.02.2014 04:52 AM

came back as soon as i woke up to edit the part about having kids. cuz dunno if thats real either. could be for the people who are into smth like this.

OK, I will admit I don't dislike all kids. A few that I know I like very much, but I am always glad not to have that particular responsibility myself.
