One of my favorite scenes from Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books, if I remember it right, concerned the skinny small country schoolmaster, after being physically assaulted and humiliated his first day by the large country boys in the school, pulls out a horse whip and lets them have it when they start in with the same violence the 2nd day. The teacher never has a problem after that.

Can't believe I'm about to type this...I'm on the NRA's side when it comes to age limits on all firearms. Sorry, but if an eighteen year-old single mother in the ghetto wants a gun to at least keep her kids safe in a gang-infested area, it's damn near cruel to forbid it.

I read the Florida age limit as applying to ALL firearms.

And yeah, induclo, there are countless sad stories of accidental shootings. I'm all for mandatory safety measures, fingerprint technology, etc. But I'm sticking to my premise: in some neighborhoods, it's simply smart to have something in the house (kept safe until it's ever needed).

It's funny. People of all stripes in my community are suddenly woke to gun safety issues. And it pisses me off. About a dozen gun-related homicides in my city last year--nearly all black people--nary a school shooting. Now people are demanding our schools to be safer. Hm....

the assholes selling this LIE about that kid are using snipets from a CBS interview. at one point he describes hunkering down with fellow students during the killing, and then later describes how he went back to the school around 6PM to talk to the other kids and document what was happening.
