Yeah. I remember the day I bought it. It had just been released and I was driving my mom around for some reason. I put it on. It came out. Haha.

Got home, put it on, headphones in (nice ones), bowl bowl loaded, the almost deliberate blowing off of a physics paper that I probably should have blew off a physics paper, and, before you know it... I'm lying to my prof about some bullshit involving hitting a deer... (Got a d in the class if I recall correctly). Totally worth it. And I'm not kidding. It was just one of those nights, defined by an album, that I will treasure more than anything as petty as fucking college.

maybe the most amazing thing about Leaves is the drone that starts it. It commands you: LISTEN! LISTEN TO THIS FUCKING ALBUM WITH ALL YR ATTENTION!

My mom begged to differ in 2001. But yeah. It definitely caused a legion of college kids to check their discs for errors in unison.

Well, maybe not a legion. But a few. Probably not on unison either.

do the numero boxes come with digital downloads or just the vinyl?

halgreen 02.07.2014 04:54 PM

When I got the received the first box it came with a digital download, but only for the box, I had to e-mail for download of the bonus LP which they released for download a few weeks after street date.
I just pre-ordered the second box plus the bonus and they sent me a link to all 4 LPs. :)

Oh man, one of my very favorite bands. I love them so fucking much it's not even funny.

Challenge is my favorite currently but you can't go wrong. Kid Is Gone box set was my birthday present and it rules.

How they play their instruments, their musical language is something few others have explored.

Just ace.

Challenge for a Civilized Society is possibly my favourite too, not the one that seems to get mentioned.

Next boxset, 32 tracks including Fake Train, New Plastic Ideas and a 3rd LP featuring singles, radio sessions etc.

If SY have never sold a Gold Album, can you imagine the low sales figures for Unwound? I have been digging through the web to try and come up with numbers but no dice. I wonder what is their best selling album?

Rob Instigator 03.13.2014 09:52 AM

My personal fave is Fake Train but I love them alllllll

They're certainly one of the best bands to have ever walked the earth. The mighty Unwound. I love them more with each passing year. I miss them more with each passing year too.

Justin Trosper's got a new band with the mighty Sara Lund.
I'm digging the new song.
