"Night at the Armory" hitting the airwaves soon:

From what I’ve seen / heard from the Monday night performance at St. David’s Episcopal Church, other than the pipe organist, LOW performed as a duo. Also, Mimi has gained weight from when I saw them February 2016.

_tunic_ 03.15.2018 12:35 PM

Steve the bass player is the organist, they are still a threesome. And he's awesome at it. How did you see/hear? I wonder if the setlist was the same as the two nights they did in London and Amsterdam.

Bytor Peltor 03.15.2018 12:55 PM

A FB friend of my wife periscoped about three minutes worth of......”what’s the world, what’s the world going to do about it,” repeated & repeated over a distorted drum machine.

Tonight is the final episode of Night at the Armory and it will feature Alan Sparhawk. No capture of any of the others is circulating, I hope someone would record and share this one, though.

We should try contacting the creators. Perhaps after the series ends its run at the CW Duluth they can upload it to to Vimeo or YouTube. Or something.

What?! I want it now! Electric Fetus say they have it for sale at their stores — surely they can ship mine right away, no? :)

In other news (to me; you guys have probably known this for years) I just read that, according to Alan, Low had nothing to do with OwL Remix. Which makes sense, since unlike Tonight The Monkeys Die that thing's WEAK and I want my money back.

Alan Sparhawk has remixed Azalia Snail's "Field Rep".

A post by Azalia Snail I've stole from facemook:

“As many wonderful life experiences go, it started as a chance encounter.

“It was one of those nights where I couldn’t find anybody to go with me to an avant noise show at the original Knitting Factory in New York City. I never minded the nice stroll from the West Village down to Houston Street, though I often sought the companionship of a like-minded musical peer. But on this particular night, it was to be that I was on my own.

“Sometimes it’s more fun to play noisy improvised music than to listen, but I do like to support my fellow musicians. Alan Licht had just finished his elegant guitar noodling and I was about to leave. As I was walking down the stairs, I ran into Shimmy Disc producer Kramer. He asked me if I was leaving, and encouraged me to stay as the next band was ‘the quietest band I ever heard.’ He was recording their first album at his studio and booked this last-minute show for them.

“This sounded like something intriguing, so I decided to stay. It was a profoundly spiritual half hour or so; graceful, yet powerful. The blend of lead singers Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker voices was heavenly and majestic.

“There was less than a dozen of us in the audience.

“This was the beginning of what is now a 25+ year friendship with the band LOW.

“It’s been 20 years since Alan Sparhawk played on one of my records, and I couldn’t be more pleased to have this new version of “Field Rep” with Alan’s added vocals and instrumentation, remixed with love by him.

I’m so thrilled to bring this to your attention.

“From my latest album on Silber Records,Neon Resistance.”

_tunic_ 06.10.2018 12:31 AM

Low has a new site, which apparently only mentions the following date:

12.06.2018

indeed apparently, because in Firefox I see nothing, just blank except for the four words Low Home Shows Contact.

New album ??!!!??!!!!???!!!???!!!?
I hope it has tons of organs on it.

_tunic_ 06.12.2018 12:25 AM

It's 12.06.2018 and I see nothing. Were they referring to the Kim-Trump summit then?

I'm sick to death of Low

they should make a T-shirt out of that

_tunic_ 06.12.2018 06:43 AM

Low's last tweet says:
"Good morning. 3 new songs up. See the video. Full record out in September."

but I don't see it yet

_tunic_ 06.12.2018 09:40 AM

hipster_bebop_junkie 06.12.2018 10:56 AM

Yaaay! <3

"Double Negative" can also be pre-ordered from Bandcamp on CD, LP, tape, and there are t-shirts as well. I'll get the cassette and the Loser edition vinyl if there are any left by the end of the week when I get paid.

https://lowtheband.bandcamp.com/album/double-negative

I think I'll start a new thread, then. :)
