Dinosaur Jr, Radiohead, MBV

Who's next?

sonicl 11.16.2007 06:21 AM

Coldplay?

sarramkrop 11.16.2007 06:23 AM

I'm going to start a deliberately obscure thread about Thin White Rope and Band Of Susans. That' ll teach them.

Brett Anderson is beating himself because he wasn't born as Angie Bowie. Morrisey is a racist.

Let's discuss the influence of penguins on the world market.
I say Yes.
I can smell the scent of my own body, is that the sign to take a shower?

ZEROpumpkins 11.16.2007 07:03 AM

SY?

Yeah, this board needs more Band of Susans talk. I just finished my collection a few weeks ago with "Here comes Success"; couldn't believe how good it was! I always thought they'd never top "Hope Against Hope" (though "Word and the Flesh" comes close, eh?), but... the last song on this album is amazing. Great band.

So wait, are you asking: Which band will be as good as these bands? I'm sort of confused. I thought you meant that MBV, Radiohead and Dino were talked about too much here and you were wondering which will be the next most talked about band?

gmku 11.16.2007 07:21 AM

How about Boris?

It'll take another 20 years before you get to listen to them.

gmku 11.16.2007 07:24 AM

How clever.

gmku 11.16.2007 07:30 AM

Well, at least I'm not purposefully obscure like you.

sarramkrop 11.16.2007 07:31 AM

Ouch! You hurt me.

atsonicpark 11.16.2007 07:43 AM

I kinda hope we start talking about Charles Manson's music more often on here. He's the fuckin man.

GARBAGE DUMP.
OH GARBAGE DUMP.
WHY ARE YOU CALLED A GARBAGE DUMP?
I CAN FEED THE WORLD WITH MY GARBAGE DUMP.

There's always Battles. I like the Mirrored LP. Or Liars.

MellySingsDoom 11.16.2007 07:59 AM

Everyone's talking about Kevin Shields like it's the Second Coming, and no-one's mentioned the re-union of BOYZONE, possibly the most talented and unique vocal quintet since The Pasadenas. Ingrates, of all you!

PS. We need to talk more about racist black metal here. A LOT more.
PPS. Why haven't those lazy bums the Wailers reformed yet? Dammit, those Greatest Hits re-issues won't sell themselves, y'knoiw.

atsonicpark 11.16.2007 08:05 AM

i wanna talk about zeni zuva. or zo zo zo zoffy!

sonicl 11.16.2007 08:12 AM

No-one ever wants to talk about Bitch Magnet, so I'm not going to talk about your stinky bands. So there! :fuckyou:

sarramkrop 11.16.2007 08:22 AM

I'm the only Jacobites fan in the world.

Fenriz of Darkthrone, when asked about the MBV re-union yesterday:

pavement definatly but with gary young!

huggy bear reunion!!

nick2767 11.16.2007 10:43 AM

Who next? Wouldn't it be great if it was someone from the grave - say, Nirvana. Kurt's death being a gross exaggeration perpertrated by an over eager media and in fact he'd just been on extended sabbatical working on a kibbutz.

Probably the Smiths - for squillions of spondoolies!

I'd be ecstatic if it was band of susans or thin white rope. Two favourite bands from the 80/90's.

ZEROpumpkins 11.16.2007 11:38 PM

I'm pretty sure Kurt's dead. Pretty damn sure.

I can't remember if I saw Band of Susan twice or just once, and I couldn't begin to hum one of their songs. But I still figure I like them a lot. I wonder what they're doing now? Sitting around the retiment home with Salem 66?

MellySingsDoom 11.17.2007 04:26 AM

I want the Happy Flowers to re-form and go on tour again. Who can resist the charms of the likes of "Mom, I Gave The Cat Some Acid?"

Yeah, definately going to happen. I seem to remember reding something where Malkmus said it might happen... After pavement, theres none of the notable 80s/90s indie rock bands left to reform, is there? WHAT WILL WE DO THEN?

Don't kid yourself, Modest Mouse can break up any time they want in order to have a reunion.

alyasa 11.18.2007 01:46 AM

Swans.
