Weekend Passes now available for purchase (pick up from the door on the day) from chocolate monk at http://www.chocolatemonk.co.uk/coos.htm

oh yeah, as well as doing a short reading on sunday evening in the garden, Byron Coley will also chair a panel discussion on sunday afternoon..
''sound poetry in post-tongue culture.'

In an era where the very concept of 'word' has been consumed by its own viral context, a group of composers and improvisors has taken certain
precepts of spontaneous verbal composition and applied them to musical communciation. This has created a mode of conversational sound poetry
that often exists without the impediment of the human voice as a constituent member of the creative team. Noise/music, live/taped/sampled, improvised/composed, psych/volk/free, all of these basic incarnations of individual-spirit engage in variations of phonic regurgitation. This talk will explore the synchretic and editorial roles of defined-thought-process and social-history inside this continuum. From the history of the american mimeo underground to the ghost-promise of internet pornography. Nothing is forbidden.

dylan_nyoukis, should I buy tickets now, or do you think there will be no problem buy tickets at the venue on sunday?

Yes, London Gatwick. There is a railway station at the airport with trains going straight to Brighton, and the journey takes about forty minutes.

greenlight 08.11.2008 10:38 AM

stu666 08.11.2008 11:19 AM

all three nights are gonna be great... a lot of diverse acts, and an all round good/laid back vibe.

Well?

Very understandable. These overseas trips to see bands tend to end up very expensive, no matter how cheaply you try to do them.

greenlight 08.12.2008 08:37 AM

were are you from Nefeli?

dylan_nyoukis what's your stance towards videotaping ("amateurish" style and not for any commercial use) as a promoters (SY doesn't mind taping them, they only like copy of everything you record)? I videotaped Lee's ToL performance in Brno '08 , Lee wasn't against, same promoters.

stu666 08.12.2008 12:47 PM

just ordered my tickets, i'm officially going now! :) only for sunday though as i can't afford accommodation for 3 nights :(

greenlight 08.12.2008 03:10 PM

theres a lot of cheap hostels./.. heres a couple http://grapevinewebsite.co.uk/accommodation.html

as for tickets, dunno if i would risk just turning up on sunday,, sold quite a lot of weekend passes and i expect sunday tohave a lot of SY fans just turning up for Thurston, might be best just to buy on ahead of schedule..

as for videotaping,, knock yrself out!! dont bother us.. oh but please dont refer to me as a 'promoter',, ughhh,, i am a retarded 'noiscian' mong' artist just like many of the folks on the bill,, i just curate the event.. 99% of promoters make me wanna poke my own eyes out..:)
