i brought my laptop to UNI on thursadaay and copied a pile of cds from the mjsic library. this is something that i shall be doing often now. its great that i never have to buy classical, avant garde and world music cds again.
so last week i copied
shostokivich-symphonies 2,4,5,9,10
and his 14th and 15th string quartets.
and a collection of indian ragas.
im now listening to shostokovich's 14th string quartet.
btw how is his opera "the nose"?

and what thing of john cage should i get? i have a cd of his prepared piano, but im not sure where to go from there

Another live cassette that I thought I'd lost - Cabaret Voltaire live at The Final Academy in 1982. First time I've listened to it for around 20 years. Not too bad considering I only had a hand held cassette recorder with a condenser mike. The tape's also got Bill Burroughs doing a reading at the same event.

Joan of Arc - Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain

The Faith Healer - The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

I have visions of an embryonic Killing Joke playing this track when they first formed. They played it as intro music at all their recent gigs.

I love this Dire Straits album. I always have. I love how Knopfler sounds like Dylan only better, in his inflection. "Romeo and Juliet" chokes me up every time.

Caesars - 39 Minutes Of Bliss (In An Otherwise Meaningless World)
Caesars - Paper Tigers

They used to be my favourite band, until I discovered the Ramones, and these albums aren't that bad, I still like some of the songs.
