enjoy guys. it'll be a great show.

The only artist I've actually even heard, out of all those mentioned in this thread, is Zola Jesus. I like her sound a lot and will def check out anything she has in store for the future.

EDIT: I spoke (via email) with Nika of Zola Jesus earlier today. An 8 song EP is due out on Troubleman Unlimited the end of this month! With an LP to follow in May.

This radio show did a Zola Jesus special, they played some old songs, new songs, live stuff, a collab with Dead Luke and an interview.

both of the Zola Jesus singles are just fantastic. I can't get my ears off them (the song "Dog" included)

you're right.

Green Magnesium 01.06.2009 05:10 PM

AHH! Thanks so much T&B, that radio special features basically everything she's released at this point, plus previews of the upcoming stuff!! I wanna give some rep, but I can't :(

Kosako 01.07.2009 07:10 AM

Mmmm... chicks! Always love them!

thank you

sarramkrop 01.07.2009 04:23 PM

yeah, that show is nothing short of fantastic. many thanks.

sarramkrop 01.07.2009 07:20 PM

Seriously, though, do at least check out these three. They are the highest peak of female creativity you can get in music produced in the western world right now. Everything that you might have liked about SY's Kim Gordon at her weirdest, most creative best is here amplified by 100%.

Green Magnesium 01.07.2009 09:43 PM

Wow... just got done listening to the interview segments with Zola Jesus from the WNYU radio show. Nika comes off as rather charming... but her boyfriend/bandmate "Dead Luke" is obnoxious as all get out.

are they dating? what a lucky guy if they are.

dead luke's solo stuff is good.

Green Magnesium 01.08.2009 01:43 AM

Well she said "we live together" and then they made a joke about him drawing hearts in the air. So I only assumed.

Then again, maybe she likes the ladies. I had no idea she was like 19 years old. That's younger than most of the folks on this board it would seem.

Toilet & Bowels 01.08.2009 05:22 AM

She's 19?! Bloody hell. Well at least teenagers are making good music again.
