the idea is to list the songs that would make the most accessible sonic youth compilation.. the goal is to achieve moderate mainstream success..

Ive actually done this for some of my friends to get them into Sonic Youth.....and once they've got used to the candy, assault them with hardcore NYCG&F *evil grin!*

I am actually making my friend an SY comp, because he ignorantly said that there are only 5 good sonic youth songs, and everything else they do is noise.

i promised my workmate some sonic youth, so i think compilation is a good idea, but it's not going to be easy to choose. she never heard sy, so i must choose something "popy" i'd say, but still don't know what, yet.

sugar kane and bull in the heather are good starters..

but does anyone think SY should really do a compilation?

best off... thing would kind of suck. than what i was reading in interview from wire, that there are plans to release SY's film music (two or three CD's worth of stuff), than also there's desire to release on SYR "a real serious concert series, of different live gigs from differen points in their career", but Lee saying that process of archiving the recordings, then listening to them all and selecting the best ones would constitute a "dauting task". that would be really good, if this would happened.

I'm sure Lydia Lunch would blacken ur eye if she heard you thought her vocals were "accessible" and "audience friendly".

lydia lunch has been fucked by a revolver. what do I care what she thinks?
