What good stuff is coming out? I don't have a clue.

Torn Curtain 01.03.2010 09:26 AM

There's some very promising Tim Buckley stuff coming:

"Beginning with a three-CD 'Goodbye' and Hello' release in late-spring/ early-summer 2010, Rhino will release expanded versions of the first seven Tim Buckley records, at the rate of two or three a year. The minimum re-issue for any one title will be two discs, with the possible exception of 'Blue Afternoon", for which extra material has yet to surface.

H&G 2.0 would consist of both mono and stereo album and singles mixes and un-released tracks, plus a whole slew of demos for recorded and unrecorded songs."

Badass. If they basically just have a disc which is an all acoustic version of H&G minus the godawful production I would literally cheer. There are so many great songs on there that I can hardly listen to because of all the shit on top of them.

This Is Not Here 01.03.2010 10:59 AM

Why are you talking about releases in October?

StevOK 01.03.2010 03:45 PM

I think he means they're coming out in '10.

Keeping It Simple 01.03.2010 03:54 PM

The Depreciation Guild are putting the finishing touches to their second LP, hopefully for a 2010 release.

I genuinely wasn't expecting that response. More like this, please.

Hip Priest 01.03.2010 05:53 PM

Janek Schaefer will be releasing a cd of his "Phoenix & Phaedra holding patterns" in April.

We're going to see him performing the thing in Liverpool next week, with Philip Jeck as support. There is no cooler event than that, in my opinion.

Glice 01.03.2010 06:04 PM

What sort of stuff is Schaefer dong these days? I had his Skate thing a few years ago, and saw the weather balloons thing but I haven't caught up with him in ages. Jeck, obviously, continues to be magnificent.

Hip Priest 01.03.2010 06:10 PM

Well, this is wonderful: http://www.audioh.com/projects/extendedplay.html

It is currrently part of this exhibition, which I enjoyed more than I can really describe: http://www.audioh.com/projects/sound...ospective.html

It hasn't been confirmed yet but I hope there will be a new Boards of Canada record out this year...

Also, new Robert Pollard/Boston Spaceships stuff of course.

New of Montreal album too but don't know when.

I haven't seen any official news but it says so on the website of the venue I'm going to see them at, and I've read that in other places as well. Can't wait (and can't wait to see them!)

And yeah, I'm definitely excited about that new Broadcast. Man, Warp is so awesome.
I'm also eager to ear that Rustie album they're going to put out, and that Flying Lotus they're going to put out, and that Battles they're going to put out, plus all the new bands they're gonna sign, etc.
Definitely hoping for some new Boards of Canada

TheFoxBen 01.06.2010 09:49 AM

Warp is certainly the best label around at this time of music history.

SYRFox 01.06.2010 09:50 AM

Warp is certainly the best label ever
(yeah, personal opinion. Therefore universal opinion as I am god. Yup.)

SYRFox 01.06.2010 09:53 AM

But for real, there would be like, four or five Warp records in my 2009 top ten... awesome

DanielCarlson 01.10.2010 06:29 AM

A new album by The Fall will be released in April.

dionysusundone 01.10.2010 06:34 AM

Records on my list-

Liars (haven't heard it yet)
Xiu Xiu (have heard it, it's their best in a good while! very pop.)
I see there's a new Sigh? That one.
Burzum for sure.
SWANS (anyone heard that demo? It's good, if not very SWANS-sounding)
