You get the usual 80-odd minutes of jet-set Euro types hopping from sunny location to sunny location and indulging in various acts of softcore kinkiness. Needless to say it's all about as sexy as warm beer but who's really watching this stuff in 2019 to get turned on?

Funny you should say that, one of the guys for film night chose Girl On A Motorcycle as almost a companion piece to Performance. Fuck me it was awful. The exact same thing as venus in furs. Supposedly it's sexy with the great sites of Germany, Switzerland and the like and the ridiculous sex scenes to boot. That's interspersed with Marianne Faithfull just looking daft on the motorcycle that's clearly on a rig.

Awful film that should be forgotten. People forget that the swinging sixties didn't half have some dreck come out of it.

Oh God, GoaM is terrible, even by the standards of other films like that. I'm not even sure I've ever managed to get all the way through it. Not in one sitting, anyway.

The Gazpacho Gestapo 06.24.2019 10:24 PM

i've been meaning to watch Running Man for the longest time now

Watching this in English Language, because we'll be talking about the history of English. It's an...interesting watch; some of us have reacted to some unexpected scenes.

start watching art films until your eyes bleed

find a library and see if they can get Eraserhead, and Bergman's Persona for you

You'll find an all new meaning in life

I always got a very creepy vibe from JEJ’s character in this. I haven’t seen it since I was probably about 13, but I still remember being utterly creeped out by it.

I avoided this for a long time thinking it would be be the same kind of bone-deep despair horror that I was so disturbed by in “Anti Christ.”

Turns out, it pretty much was. Though definitely more accessible than “Anti Christ,” it’s still deeply unnerving.

Good, genuinely scary film, though. Great droney score.

Speaking of Arnold Schwarzenegger! So the Mrs' lad is at the perfect age to see his first Arnie film and this Saturday is going to be when he gets to see one. Now what film do I go for? A part of me is thinking Terminator, cos, y'know it's Terminator (and it was my first Arnie film too), or commando. Any suggestions?

First person to suggest Twins gets neg'd.

isn’t kindergarten cop the real turd though?

so what’s the kid’s age? in numbers i mean.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2019 11:51 AM

I suggest PREDATOR, or Terminator, or Conan

9 which as I said was the same age as what I was. Never gave me any problems. Honest. We watched Big Trouble In Little China last week. He LOVED that one.

Predator is a good shout but I do think that's a couple of movies down

I say introduce him to Arnie and give him a life-lesson in one hit.

so, kindergarten cop it is :D

h8kurdt 06.25.2019 01:56 PM

Yeah, Conan might be a tad awkward at first. However, I agree that anyone with any self respect should use that line as a life motto.

As for Kindergarten Cop it's actually sad how much I know of that film. Reckon I could easily quite every line whilst watching that film. "It's not dawg it's a ferret!"

There's always the more family friendly Conan the Destroyer. It's nowhere near as good but it doesn't have any witch sex. Mind you, if he's a horse lover ...

h8kurdt 06.25.2019 02:21 PM

:D :D :D

Was it the first one where he punches a camel?

demonrail666 06.25.2019 02:39 PM

Yeah, and he punches another one in Destroyer

Obviously a running gag
