Napalm Death - Scum

Very late to Weyes Blood's Titanic Rising's "party", but I'm just enraptured by it. The distinguished misters Aragon and Severian will burn in heck. Heck I tell ya. |
nine inch nail's Adrift & At Peace from the album, all the could have been/still. such a calming song yet it makes me rethink all of my life choices. A lot of Trent Reznor's more down to earth songs are like that.

Heck's got good music, so I've heard. And I actually liked that album, even loved about half of it. A Lot's Gonna Change and Wild Time are among my favorite tunes of this year. I just wasn't completely taken in by all of the tracks on it. I find Movies incredibly overrated for instance, by no means a bad song, but it sounds somewhat "pale" compared to some of the more folky/upbeat tunes on that album and I don't think her voice can really shine in that minimalistic soundscape. Just my opinion though. I remember actually disliking Picture Me Better, but I hardly remember how it sounded anymore. Will revisit the album soon for a more fresh take. There's certainly great stuff in there, I just found it a bit inconsistent. |
this old relic
it’s still good. okay it sounds a little dated, but still. good album. |
Bloody hell
There's an open air Techno festival too close nearby until 1AM So I'm listening to Double Negative to piss off the neighbors some more. Fight bad bassdrums with good bass drums ... Drone not drones |
Surfer Rosa. Almost finished Cobain's top 50.

The idea was to find some relaxing music on Bandcamp to wake up to, so I did a search for Beethoven. Then I found this:
https://beethovengato.bandcamp.com/releases It's so crap that it's brilliant |

Edit: After looking for my initial post, I realized it was Mirror Forever I actively disliked. And listening to it again, I haven't changed my opinion. I really don't like electronic percussion and the sterile atmosphere of that track. I think Weyes Blood is great at those sweeping/jangly ballads and has some wicked pop sensibilities. But I just can't really warm up to her more low-key, rather electronic-sounding output. I think it just doesn't suit her vocal delivery. Picture Me Better is alright, now listening to it again, to me at least it's just not especially memorable. The opener, Everyday, Something To Believe and Wild Time are top-notch in my book though. |

Edgar Froese - Macula Transfer

The Del-Byzanteens - Lies To Live By
(Again) What an underrated gem |

Tonight it will be Trey Gunn's album "Untune The Sky"... but just now I finished up side 1 of Fripp & Eno's Even Spaces, which was a bootleg of the two of them playing live in Paris during I think 1975 which was released on 2 lp's...

Franco Battiato's Clic. It's an amazing modern classical album from the 70s that is all over the place. Conventional instruments, synthesizers, electric instruments. There are flavors of jazz, krautrock, and acid rock.

i had missed this when it came out and then time flew by. i like it okay. it’s not as good as milk-eyed mender or the glorious lunacy that was Ys, but it’s nice and listenable. the one i can’t stand is have one on me— this album is tons better than that, but not her best. |
nervous cop - nervous cop
it’s perhaps too much too good drum, but the harp works as a kind of separate percussion of its own (sort of like a piano) |

Jim O'Rourke's cover of "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands", from:
DAMN can O'Rourke make great ambiance (don't want to restrict it by saying "ambient") sounds. In other hands this would be another folktronicrap botched patchwork; in Jim's, it's a whole — the acoustic guitar, the noises, the Gabriel-ish vocals. Brilliant. |

That wasn’t Pink Floyd! Believe it was a label perk for ordering multiple tapes? Next up: Morher - Guilt Of Man This is on Dubbed Tapes out of London and dubbed on a Hank Williams, Jr. Rowdy cassette and it sounds fantastic. The dubbed tape hiss adds to the haunting Bjork-ish voice: |
