the short answer is that they sound like d.r.i. from around the thrashzone era, only way better and 10 times as fun. |

dirty rotten imbeciles, houston band from the early 80's, prototypical of the hardcore punk/thrash metal crossover (along with corrosion of conformity and suicidal tendencies, among others). http://www.myspace.com/dri2 --- i'm going to listen to the p.e. band you mentioned in the other thread, smelly. --- after listening to oxxxes, it's time for the journey to jerusalem: |
Thee Stooges "Raw Power" - despite the fact I'm listening to the "remix" version (which is nowhere near as good as the original release), the songs still shine like a pearl in a trawler full of swine-poo.

I've spoken to the guy who took them (Mick Rock) -a very nice guy, quite camp in his own way, but a genuine legend. He knoweth plenty about I Pop, Bowie, L Reed etc. He spends much of his time these days in NY/LA/Tokyo. Lucky guy - me most jealous! |
The Barrett pics he took are wonderful.
|
Disappointing |
