The new Yo La Yengo album.
It is really fucking good. I haven't been this immediately ball-viced by a YLT album in a long time. Probably deserves a thread of its own, but I'm lazy and shy. |
Tegan and Sara. LOL

Lots of old stuff that is new to me or has been unearthed and rediscovered/ enjoyed a whole lot
Lots of Steve Reich + Philip Glass + Arvo Part A minor forest - both LPs kick ass Caesura : both Lps are so good Bastro : idem Big N : idem Peter Kernel : idem SEAM + BITCH MAGNET: so nice to discover old bands that should have been right there next to Slint et al .... Chokebore : black black (no words for this one, just beautiful) Marnie Stern : endless mathrock noodling that i like Radiohead : Hail to the thief : highly underrated by me, reevaluated lately and loved Bastard + Deity Guns : two French bands in the 90's that were WAY ahead of their time, a cool LP by Deity Guns was actually produced by Lee Ranaldo, go hunt for it, it's really noisy and driving rawk. Very cool... |

I mentioned in an earlier post I was listening to pinkshinyultrablast @ St Petersburg but neglected to post a link. There's several short clips of the groups performance on youtube, so here's a link to the first. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBCJRrqz1Qc
