After giving the Graham Coxon a series of thorough and consecutive spins, I'm taking a breather with Deerhunter- Halcyon Digest.
But Coxon's newest is definitely worth spinning. |

I would never take offense just because toy don't like my music. But Turn it up Faggot is incredible frenetic noise rock that any BMR fan should hear. Cryptograms is a masterpiece in my opinion. An album that achieves the kind of perfect cohesion between noise, post-punk, and pop that only comes around about once every 6-10 years. Microcastle I'm not nuts about. Halcyon Digest did not appeal to me at first, but now I see it as a kind of 70's NYC post punk meets Pavement stoned odyssey. Deerhunter is one of my favorite bands of the '00s, and I hope they keep it up. |
graham coxon's new one..
and everyone should listen to cheveu.. |

Im in a foul mood. So this is all that will suffice.

I was listening to that a few days ago and the Tart albums GL made with Karla Borecky, which I love deeply and I rank amongst his best work. I find SR sometimes unnerving in that they either seemed capable of utter brilliance or forgettable messing around. Personal opinion etc. |

The Tart stuff is great yeah, Bring in the admiral is the best of their work for me. Ive liked the Shadow Ring for a while but have only just listened to Lindus the other day, and for me its by far the best thing they did. Are you a fan of Idea Fire Company porky? I got this recently and its kinda middling. |

I've only heard stuff on the internet and liked it just fine. Definitely on my list of records I'd like to own, one day. I have ordered the Henning Christiansen album Kye just put out, a man who deserves all the praise he gets. Can't wait to hear it! |
Of the Tart music, GL upped the second part of this track on Youtube. Beautiful. Hmmm...yeah!

Quiet day at work means I am able to give this double CD retrospective a good listen. Maria Zerfall (or Christine Weyrether to her parents) is a sort of legend for fans of industrial/noise music, and one I particularly admire for breaking free from the conventions of performing live so she could just concentrate on composing and recording, which resulted in the music sounding that little more sophisticated than your average noise artist.

Excellent. I haven't listened to that in ages, back when I ripped music on to PC in weak 320kbps mp3s. Must rerip to flac and listen to Like Herod and Stop Coming To My House. Loved those live versions. |

Secret Pint and hunted by a freak are my faves on there. That version of like Herod is a bit too much overkill for me, but yknow, one cant argue. |
