I gotta get that Gastr Del Sol album, never heard them, but its was The Wire's number 3 on their top albums of 1998. O'rourke, McEntire, and Markus Popp creating music together can only be gold.

and hey, I just finished this wonderful album... had myself my first listen to the Royal Trux! Another 1998 album, and it scored the 12 slot of The Wire's albums of 1998.
 


Unique beast this album.

This is a really good album, but I was expecting more. Or rather, less... less traditionally shoegaze. I was hoping for a little more personality.

I really like it though, but shoegaze needs a makeover.

I like it! It's the jam! I mean...they do basically play the same thing for like 15 minutes straight...but I love the drumming and noise. The sounds are lovely.

lolllol man that caught me whey off guard. But yeah...same basslines and guitar work is used on a lot of songs. They're much more listenable than some other stuff I've heard.
