On a hip hop related note, the new Mos Def is a return to form for him, redemption.

SYRFox 06.16.2009 01:09 PM

I'm enjoying the Calmer EP a lot. Jazztronica at its finest

May I add snowbringers cult by isengrind/twinsistermoon/neutral snow buildings

atsonicpark 06.17.2009 05:58 AM

Ah, it did.

batreleaser 06.17.2009 10:03 AM

mos def is boring. i hate all that spiritual rap shit, sounds too forced it you ask me. public enemy was more "spiritual" than those groups will ever be, and they didn't have to act like wimps.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 06.17.2009 10:52 AM

I'm sorry, but Black Star and Black On Both Sides are great albums. Nothing forced about them.

The Ecstatic is decent, but yeah, is a little generic. I prefer the new Busdriver.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 06.17.2009 10:57 AM

Oh, and is anyone else digging Of Bonds In General by Axolotl? I listened to it once and was pretty impressed.

loubarret 06.17.2009 01:53 PM

I dig the new busdriver

Derek 06.18.2009 02:30 PM

batreleaser 06.18.2009 02:33 PM

nice list, i still havnt heard new experimental dental school, i got sick of the old one.

Derek 06.18.2009 02:39 PM

Honestly, this William Basinski album is amazing. I like it way more than The Disintegration Loops series put together haha.

Oh and the new Experimental Dental School is great. I don't like it as much as the old shit but nice to know they're progressing!

I don't see anything wrong with it. And it's not a band, it's one guy. A rap artist.

atsonicpark 06.18.2009 04:55 PM

yeah, Busdriver is fucking awesome.

DJ Rick 06.18.2009 05:19 PM

Dia by Amen Dunes strikes me as probably the best album to lay on the floor and watch the ceiling fan to in 2009 so far.
