Y'know what's funny? The first time I watched The Dark Knight was years after release. I had seen Batman Begins and enjoyed it. But I didn't watch Dark Knight until long after everyone kept harping at me that I should watch it. I watched it when I was ready to see it. I loved it. But I was also not under the pressure of "you HAVE to see this movie YOU will LOVE it". Preconceptions were gone. I just decided one day, oh hey I'm in the mood to finally see this. It worked out well that way.

Seriously though, I don’t think every album in the GOOD Music summer series necessarily deserves a “drop everything!” response, BUT... you’re just not the NR I know and love if you have no plans to listen to “Ye” and “Kids See Ghosts.”

Do me a favor and just listen THREE tracks from these two EPs. Pop open Spotify and listen to KSG’s “Feel the Love” and “4th Dimension,” and then listen to Kanye’s “Ghost Town.” Just those. That’s all I ask. If you don’t do it u a bitch.

Feeling extra giving? Listen to “Infrared” from Daytona. And maybe “Cop Shoots Kid” from Nasir.

Yeah, I've had that one for a number of years myself. Very grateful for the Acme reissue series, because Originals of that are over four figures. That is indeed a great summer listening experience.

I'm pretty sure I downloaded this record before when blogs used to post any sort of obscure stuff, but stupidly never gave it a proper listen. Thank God for reissues and Discogs. I'm skint at the moment, but this record I really needed to own. I only found out about it properly because of a track by Peter Howell on a Jonny Trunk compilation. Further readings on who he is lead me to it and now I'm hooked for good. A good summer listening experience indeed.

Active Lifestyles just "hits the spot" for me. Honestly though Ive only listened to Exploding Drawings a handful of times, so I don't know it as well.

Candlemass - Nightfall

Sometimes being tasteful is the wrong choice. This record wouldn't be so great if it wasn't excessive and a bit ridiculous. Same applies to Mercyful Fate.

Everyone raves about Epicus (which is admittedly great) but I actually prefer Nightfall. Less of a statement, maybe, but just a better collection of songs.

Messiah Marcolin is surely one of the truly great, and defining, metal front men.

Anyway, current loving Heilung. I suspect they're a band pretty much everyone on here will hate. However, they've got me pretty bad. Visually they're also incredible. I've actually no idea how they transport all their shit given how they're not a massive band.

I haven’t watched the video, but he’s right. That album is the worst thing Jay or Bey has released this decade. Pure fucking recycled garbage throughout. It’s like a watered down “Watch the Throne” for ... people on Ambien? I don’t know what the fuck the target audience was supposed to be for that shitpile. I’ve been a Jay-Z fan since 1997 and I’ve gone from Beyoncé appreciator to semi-fan in the years since “Single Ladies,” but I am certainly not please by hearing the dynamic duo copping Migos beats and grasping at straws.

Really disappointing after “4:44.” And effectively ending the hot streak Beyoncé has been on since “4,” which was her first truly good album.
