The problem is when i say the word morrissey it has connotations relative to the time and place. Just like how liking the Rolling Stones has different meanings in the 00's than it did in the 1970s.

True, but what you are not grasping here is that Morrissey, relative to any connotation of any particular time and place, unlike say the Rolling Stones, always sucked, sucks now, and will more than likely always suck in the future ;)
