If you bitch about it being a .rar, you really shouldn't be surfing the internets.

the new no age, boris and portishead are my favorites of the year so far. i'm sure i like others but i forgot most of 2008's releases. i don't fancy the new nick cave as of right now. i'll keep giving it a listen.

i can't wait for the new love is all.

✌➬ 06.18.2008 03:03 PM

No Age, No Age!!

fugazifan 06.18.2008 03:34 PM

excepter's debt dept was great. EN theres definatly a progression, but it is still the same basic formula. i lover it and its a winning formula, just sayin. and i will now DL that album, if only for the artwork. was of the better covers that i have seen as of recent but not as good as while my guitar violently bleeds, i want to make a shirt with that pic on it...

Rob Instigator 06.18.2008 03:38 PM

The new NO AGE is fucking AWESOME
\
makes animal collective look like peter paul and fucking Mary with their dull tunes.

yes I SAID IT!

batreleaser 06.18.2008 04:31 PM

no age is good, i like them, good ol' power pop, i thought wierdo rippers was a helluva lot better than the new one though.

damn, i also forgot xiu xiu's 'women as lovers'. i loved that record, almost as good as la foret me thinks.

Rob Instigator 06.18.2008 04:33 PM

the xiu xiu women as lovers CD I bought was (unknown to me) one of 500 with a complememtary DVD with 15 videos and tour footage and pictures and all sorts fo cool xiu xiu stuff.

Everyneurotic 06.18.2008 05:06 PM

don't see the comparison between ac and no age.

it's like saying "megadeth makes snoop dog sound like carol king".

only connection i've ever heard is that NA's song "impossible bouquet" sounds similar to AC's "Kids On Holiday", and it kinda does... aside from that, they both make good music that is kinda indie and kinda pop?

id say no age is kinda kinda kinda kinda shoegaze and really power pop.

animal collective is kinda pop kinda folk kinda experimental kinda everything.

those bands really do have nothing in common.

atsonicpark 06.20.2008 03:39 PM

animal collective and no age sound nothing alike... the only thing they have in common is they both seemed to get really popular out of nowhere.

The new xiu xiu... ehhhhhhhhh... maybe they're just starting to get old to my ears.

Everyneurotic 06.20.2008 05:44 PM

women as lovers didn't really do a lot for me either.

has some decent songs in it, though.

batreleaser 06.20.2008 07:27 PM

i think the new xiu xiu is as good as anything theyve done. theyre touring with prurient. thats gonna be a tense crowd.

atsonicpark 06.21.2008 06:28 AM

i saw them when they toured with yellow swans, it was nice.

sarramkrop 06.21.2008 06:33 AM

What would we do if the years weren't numbered? What would we do if numbers didn't exist at all?

This is my question for today.

batreleaser 06.21.2008 07:34 AM

well, without numbers im almost sure wed be fucked.

Glice 06.21.2008 08:51 AM

Who is actually being ironic in this case? It must be me, as you clearly don't have a sense of humo(u)r/ taste.

Death & the Maiden 06.22.2008 12:57 AM

I haven't listened to anything from 2008, and I only bought 3 or 4 albums from 2007. I'm too busy discovering the past.

decided to check this out, as I generally find myself enjoying anything you very passionately stand behind. I'm extremely glad I did. Stunning album. I listened to it last night while trying to sleep and it created such a beautiful soundscape.

As for 2008 releases I've been enjoying

Portishead - Third
The Young Gods - Knock On Wood
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts
Nine Inch Nails - The Slip
Subtle - ExitingARM
Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing
RZA - Digi Snacks
John Zorn - The Dreamers
John Zorn - Asmodeus
Free Kitten - Inherit
Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part One (4th World War)
Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
Boris - Smile
Arson Anthem - Arson Anthem
Mike Patton - A Perfect Place soundtrack
Blank Blue - Western Water Music Vol. II

haven't heard the new one from the goslings, but expect great things.
