I'll get it when it comes out. I have STAG though. |
I haven't listened to Stag yet, but this one is truly amazing. I'd wager it's his best since The Glow Pt. 2. The "black metal" influence kinda worried me before the release, but Phil uses it to really great effect on this. I get the same feel from it like I do listening to something like Paysage d'Hiver or Darkspace.
It's available on CD/vinyl/digital on the PW Elverum & Sun site now. Just ordered myself a vinyl copy. |

4/5 Really intersting stuff, makes his death even more of a shame, I would have really loved to see where he could have gone with this |
^I sure as hell wouldn't.
|
What was your issue with it?
|
It's just a very very sad epitaph to one of the finest musicians of the 20th century. I could see the idea of Miles playing some "acid jazz"/nu-jazz/whatever interesting, but the arrangements are so terribly cheesy, as is the rapping, that it just doesn't work at all. I don't know what the fuck he was thinking on that one, but I could say that about everything he did since he came out of his six year hiatus in the 70s.

i think i listen to this album too much. the first four songs, anyway. |
