Weird. Me and my girlfriend pulled that out and listened to last week, for the first time in a good 2 years. Absolutely love that album. The song "Has-Been" is amazing, and that collab with Henry Rollins? AMAZING! Speaking of celebrities with albums, I think I'm going to pull this out: David Lynch/John Neff - Blue Bob LOVE this album. |

Yes! Yes! Yes! Fucking brilliant album! |
AC, I know you hated Inland Empire, but what did you think of Lynch's singing on Ghost of Love?
|
What, I didn't hate it at all. It's just the only Lynch film (besides Dune...) that I actually feel deserves criticism. I'd give it like a 7/10. That song's amazing btw.
|
Oh, my bad.
Is Blue Bob anything like that song, or completely different? |
completely different.
You know, it kinda sounds like Big Black playing the blues or something. It's weird simple vaguely-industrial drum machine rock with very very simple odd distorted guitars playing one note with telephone vocals and odd background noises. Great shit. |
Sounds great. I'll have to check it out ASAP.
In speaking of directors releasing albums. Have you heard of/ heard this: "In 1999 Korine and Brian Degraw of Gang Gang Dance released a music CD SSAB Songs. "I don't really know what it sounds like", Korine explained to i-D magazine. "I only listened to it once. I think it's the kind of album I'd only listen to once"." ??? Now listening: |
Haha no never heard of that. Not surprising though, Korine's involved with some crazy bands...

"She Creatures" by Implog off of one of the New York Noise comps. This is highly recommended as worth seeking out. More Crampsish than "noise" in my estimation. Brilliantly cool tune.

Sabbath - Paranoid, and I just did the first one too...
