Serious question: What KMFDM is good KMFDM for you? |
Quote:
Depends what you want. My personal favorite KMFDM albums are Angst, Nihil, and Xtort, which all came out one after the other. So I'd say KMFDM circa '93 - '96 is peak KMFDM. I like them when they're angrier and guitar-driven like Ministry lol, but the songs with the funky soul hooks never fail to put a smile on my face either. |

Point of Entry by Judas Priest
Not the typical Priest but still pretty darn good. |
Today I listened to Can's Tago Mago to and from work. This CD has been in my car for a long time. Also, I put my daughter to sleep to Yo La Tengo's And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out.

the new Barbra Streisand single is quite amazing lyrically. It's still a shit song musically, but wow. Didn't know she had the guts to do this

Yeah, the guts it must take for a Hollywood icon to release an anti-Trump song. |

from wikipedia: Mothra arrives just when Godzilla reaches her egg and engages Godzilla in battle. Briefly, she seems to be winning, even spraying Godzilla with a poisonous powder, though this is ineffective. Despite giving her all, Godzilla hits her with his atomic breath, and Mothra collapses and dies from exhaustion. but notice how the dotard is unable to focus, because this is what follows: Fortunately, Godzilla loses interest in the egg and proceeds with his rampage. lmao |

Yo S, you're off the hook: I can't call you TINY anymore. You can thank Miss Stormy, who made it Trump's new official nickname. |

My buddy in Dallas introduced me to this just after it came out. I haven’t heard it in a while, but I remember it sounding a bit different than most of the new stuff aiming out in 95. I’m listening to Melvin’s mixtape I made a few years back! |
listened all day to:
art blakey’s jazz messengers with thelonius monk and the thelonious monk quartet’s misterioso both from 1958, both great, both featuring “in walked bud” in them |

Last year at this time I was 2 months into my stint as a Saturday morning DJ on 96.1 FM out of Sugar Land TX (10AM-1PM). I created a playlist of the 3 hour show I did for Halloween 2018, full of famous and not so famous spooky classics. If you have Spotify you can listen to it straight. If you do not, you can listen to it on "shuffle".
(JUST FYI, OG rock n roller Fats Domino had passed away so I started the show with a trifecta of Fats Domino hits) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3f...CQbKjUAEw83RE0 |

I knew you were a Houston guy, but never really knew an area. Sugar Land is where my cousin lives and is where I visit the few times I come down. I fucking love that area, mainly because the no color zoning laws or whatever is in effect down there in the commercial parts. I find it oddly satisfying to drive around in an area and not see company colors screaming at you from all directions. There is something quite nice about seeing all these large companies with simple backlit black logos on the tan buildings. I really, really like it and would love to see it catch on around here. |

Always a classic for me. |
