Man I dropped the ball with these guys. I liked them a lot, and just never bothered to listen to anything after their first album. |

Playing this LP now. Recording to cassette tape. Here's a clue for you all: Many boots recorded in the 60s and 70s were not recorded or mastered by audiophiles. Many, like this one, were either recorded or mastered at the wrong speed, and usually they sound too fast. If the songs sound considerably faster than their studio album counterparts, there's a good chance the recording is off--a good argument for owning a turntable with adjustable pitch. I went down about 2.5 notches (slower, halfway between 4 and 6 on the upper part of the slider) on my Technics SL-1200 and it's perfect.
I had to do this to an old Hendrix boot LP I found last summer too. Quote:

By the way, thread-maker, I believe it's "auditory", not "aural." |
What's up with the black cover? My copy doesn't look like that.

Ltd. Ed. Collector's edition. I spare no expense when it comes to Spiritualized. But that's just am image from Google, not a picture of my copy. |

Good. That is one underrated SYR. I love it, but its usually ignored or forgotten in most SYR discussions. |

Your computer? Fine, I'll fuck off, then. Sigh... pathetic. Your computer? Really? Come on, man.

Heavens! My apologies, I'll be more accurate next time. I wouldn't want to disappoint you. :[

Alright you smug pricks! let this be a lesson to you. If you don't clarify what exactly you're listening to, gmku can't identify it now can he? there will be severe and disquieting consequences if a mistake is made. I'm about to have my punishment served in private.

I've never really given this one a good thorough listen. But I also have been steering clear of him since Hip Hop is Dead, which for me, seemed like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Anything good since then (apart from the Damian Marley collab)? |

Well done. Lush has never really been given its due. Good band. At least I'm pretty sure they are... I haven't heard them in several years. They might sound like crap to me now. Doubt it, though. I'm in the process of ordering my second copy of this album at this very moment, based on your suggestion (and ridiculously low price). Hope I like it as much as I claim to. Age does odd things to your appreciation of music. |
"Scar" and "Spooky" are the only ones I enjoy at the moment...
but their absolute best (it's a compilation actually) is Gala, imo |

i'm not too keen on anything that came out later either, although pretty much every album has a bunch of great/classic songs.. his new upcoming album (dropping in June i think) titled "Life Is Good" should be his best effort in ages though. |

and honestly this is really reminiscent of the unicorns and the microphones getting together but instead of making pop music they did a lot of opiates and talked about suicide |
