I have an instrumental piece that sounds so similar to Disappearer both in the melody and sound that it borders on plain and simple plagiarism. It came out while I was jamming in a way that I imagined Sonic Youth would if they had Pierre Schaeffer or Robert Moog in the band. It is a homage and I can't really claim it as my own. Does that count as a contribution to this? Other than that: Slavo, get you act together!!

Danny Himself 09.06.2007 10:44 AM

Hah, if it sounds anything like Disappearer then it counts! Woo!

nicfit 09.06.2007 11:11 AM

damn I'd better collect some ideas/sounds pretty fast or I'll be left out from the vol2 too agh hah ah ahaagaha hahaa!!!

^^^ :D

maybe add also a list of the "semi-taken" (tracks someone said he's doing but are not finished yet) ones, could help other people choose. thanks! :) , love

nic.

Danny Himself 09.06.2007 11:14 AM

It ain't confirmed until I have it on my desktop. :]

sarramkrop 09.06.2007 11:20 AM

Ok, that's a deal. Danny, I'll try to upload it tomorrow, but have a listen and tell me if it qualifies first. The melody came out so close to the moment on Disappearer when Thurston Moore starts singing 'It Turns To Me - It Turns To Gold....' that I repeated it over and over and I've overdubbed some bling noodling on top. I hope this all makes sense.

Oh, there's no much need for that.

Insignificant 09.08.2007 10:40 AM

Really, I'd love to do "Satan is Boring". I'd have to coax my bandmates into it though, so it's merely a "maybe" at the moment.

forkimified 09.08.2007 11:38 AM

Cool stuff. I accidentally tuned an acoustic guitar so it sounds like Teenage Riot... maybe I can do somehting with that...

PAULYBEE2656 09.08.2007 01:48 PM

can i do a cover of ciccone youths silence?

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 09.08.2007 02:06 PM

i'm too busy but I will send a Stones or Schizophrenia by volume three I am sure...

Danny Himself 09.08.2007 02:59 PM

Main post updated... :]

k-krack 09.08.2007 05:12 PM

Alright, when we have something to record with, I'd love to do The World Looks Red or something... probably wouldn't even be able to hold a "Candle" to the original, but whatever. It's one of my favourite songs ever.
It would be a single gtr version, though... I think...
Or maybe even The Burning Spear!
O the (sort of) possibilities!!!
This won't be for a few volumes, I don't think...

sarramkrop 09.10.2007 11:05 AM

So, Danielle, which version did you use in the end?

Danny Himself 09.10.2007 12:10 PM

Well, Gabriella, I'll probably be using the less-noisy version.. the noised up one doesn't really sound like Disappearer as much.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.12.2007 11:53 PM

I just recorded Star Power. I think it came out pretty good.

If anyone wants to add to it, lemme know and I can send you my full audacity project.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.13.2007 12:35 AM

If anyone wants to add to it, I wouldn't mind some pretty guitar playing since most of mine is noise and 100% wet verb'd rhythm. Oh man, I should have reversed reverbed it for King Buzzo!) lemme see if I can undo the verb.

Oops, wrong link.
