A sampler cd from the Fonal label with stuff from Kemialliset Ystavat, Tv-Resistori, Islaja, Kiila and others. It's pretty good stuff.
And good call on that Taj Mahal Travellers one. I only have that on mp3 but I really like it. A pretty big influence on Double Leopards and other guys like that. To my ears at least. |
Taj Mahal Travellers fucking rule.
At present, I am rocking Too Much Too Soon by New York Dolls. |

its what i was ripping from vinyl. im mixing it now, my wires are grounded (or is it not grounded) so they fuzz a little and so im getting rid of that

taj mahal travellers are like the number one inspiration for stuff like wooden wand and nnck and sunburned hand of the man. the jammy, silent circular improvisations. i also have it on mp3, i hope to buy it sometime (haven't checked if it's in print and available)
i listened to in this afternoon: jim o' rourke - insignificance (it shows how much jim o' influenced wilco on a ghost is born) and sigur rós - takk (i can't get enough of this album, and i'm not a fan of their previous two albums) and right now, because of marley's thread. my first recordings with a "band". i'm so uploading it, it's like comedy unintentional no wave. i can't believe we were ahead of our time!!! (i mean in the no wave revival, not that we invented it). it's the single most surreal thing i have ever heard, and i was involved in it |

I just took "Come On Pilgrim" off the shelf recently. & to be honest, I didn't like it that much the first few times I heard it. But, after listening to it again, I think it's a great little, 20 min. album. |
Messiaen - Quartet for the End of Time

I think I'll go listen to the 3 cd set, "Bustin' Out Of Trenchtown". By, The Wailers. A set of their early. (alot to say the least)
