Wilco cover Woody Guthrie

I love both these artists and always seen a connection between them so I'm glad to see one cover the other. This song in particular "the jolly banker" is very timely about a folk hero from the unlikeliest of sources (a banker) who stands up for the little guy and looks out for him. The song sounds wonderful, I cant wait for the Wilco (the album).

You can download the song for free off their site http://beta.wilcoworld.net/guthrie/

Are you not aware of the two Wilco / Billy Bragg Mermaid Avenue LPs, wherein the two collaborated to set unrecorded Woody Guthrie lyrics to music?

^I was gonna say, Yeh! There is a connection between them! MERMAID AVE VOLS 1 & 2. Both must haves. And there's a documentary to boot!!

anyway, yes, I'm also super-excited about WILCO (THE ALBUM). Can't wait.

Mermaid Avenue 1 was great; 2 I listen to once a year and wonder how they fucked up so royally. Tensions between them and the Bragg, by most accounts. Genuinely not great record.
