Jim O'Rourke just launched a Bandcamp site, TinyMixTapes points out, where he's releasing eight albums full of rare material. Together, they're called Steamroom 1-8. Listen to the 20-minute "Falling Wall", off Steamroom 1, above. They were recorded or remastered in various circumstances, many in recent years in Tokyo; Steamroom 7 is O'Rourke's soundtrack for the Makino Takashi film The World. A download costs $7 per record.

Droney stuff from Montreal. band members are unknown, might even be related to godspeed you black emperor or other Constellation acts???

Four guitarists creating a carefully strategized wall of sound. Call it doom, call it drone, call it shoegaze, it's fucking loud. Blast this one cause you don't like your neighbours anyway.
