Edition of FIFTY! You lucky son of a gun. Speaking of picture books, I'm sure you're looking forward to PJ Harvey & Seamus Murphy's The Hollow Of The Hand:

I'll go out on a date with Viv Albertine before I can afford the limited edition box, but I'm going for the hardback over the paperback — gotta rock those "highest quality photographic reproductions"...

hipster_bebop_junkie 09.09.2015 12:35 AM

Even though it seems undecipherable, I am very interested in Bill Nace's graphic work a great deal. I also have "drawings: winter 2005", which is a very lovely and strange hand-made accordion-style book of abstract drawings. I'd like such work to be more accesible, but most of it is now impossible to find.

I'm looking very much forward to "The Hollow of the Land", and I'll be glad to fall deeper into poverty by purchasing the best edition I could possibly afford. I'm not going for the reader's version, either.

I love printed matter, and I will be forever addicted to Marhaug Forlag's catalog. I'd recommend anyone to check out Stunt Rock #3: "MoE-Music to the People", and also to blast every record by MoE and all related projects.

I've been notified by Sub Pop that my order (placed last week) has shipped, and even though it will take a while for the record to get to my door, I'm wondering if they would have possibly included an acoustic EP as they did in the past two releases ("C'Mon Acoustic", "The Visible End"). That would be pretty ace.

Those bonus discs were announced on the site beforehand though, weren't they? I was also thinking about extra material if one ordered the album from Sub Pop, but apparently this time it's "just" ;) the main record.

FaceCulture spoke with Alan about sleep deprivation, being based in Duluth, playing music with friends, changing seasons, No Comprende, tension in music, tricking yourself, Lies, songwriting, being in a band with his wife, performing live, Ones And Sixes, control and randomness, social issues in the US, Gentle, growing up as outsiders, and a lot more! An event that maybe could be at the reach of _tunic_ to attend?

Alan & Mimi of Low in conversation with Ayco Duyster

In order to shed further light on their 5th visit to AB and the release of the splendid new album ‘Ones and Sixes’, Alan and Mimi of Low have agreed to have a public conversation with radio-icon and day-one Low-fan Ayco Duyster.

This artist talk is the ideal opener for what is sure to be a superb concert evening.

Admittance is free of charge but seats are limited, so please register via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (making mention of ‘Low’ in the subject title)

_tunic_ 10.19.2015 02:57 AM

I'm going to the concert in Brussels, not sure yet whether I'll be able to go to the interview. Perhaps I'll just reserve a ticket anyway ;-)

Low on 'Later... with Jools Holland', 3rd & 6th November

according to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06nxs2v

I'm off to see them in Brussels tonight, I won't be attending the interview session though. It will be a double bill with Chelsea Wolfe whom I don't know at all

I also saw them in Cologne last week, didn't feel too well (too tired, too little food, too warm & too much beer), so I left early and missed the last song Landslide of the main set and the encores. Hopefully tonight will be better...

Low - 2015-10-07 - Cathedral, Manchester, UK

_tunic_ 11.04.2015 03:41 AM

Low was fabulous in Brussels last Saturday
I had to go to Paris the next day for work, and if it hadn't been sold out there already I would have gone to see them there again on Monday :-(
(Didn't feel like standing outside of the venue for hours in hope of a spare ticket)

During Landslide I nearly got into a fight when I asked the guy standing next to me to stop ticking his glass...

Hmm, I dunno. I just checked the sizes of the Later... episodes torrented at [redacted] and they're all above 1GB, of course. With all this instant/streaming bullcrap we have today, I'd say it's kinda dubious that the BBC is gonna sell high quality files.
