PRE

holy shit, what a band. just checked em out, and i gota say theyre the best newer band ive heard in the last 6 months or so. british lads, and a lass, playing no wave/hardcore influenced noise rock, check them out. on a different note, after hearing a few new autechre tracks, and being on the opposite side of the country from my current band, ive decided to start making labtop glitch-y idm music. im a little tired of playing in noisy rock bands, and this shit (which i am just trying to figure out, no tracks that are any good or anything) gimes a chance to explore lots of different musics i like, electronic, dub, hip hop, etc... so wish me luck with this pleassse.

they are pretty swell, and their singer is beautiful.

atsonicpark 03.04.2008 02:17 AM

They're okay. Your typically good Skin Graft band I guess. The singer's cute, I was just thinking that when I saw this thread. I liked Epic Fits though it didn't really do anything that bands like Scissor Girls didn't already do better. Love the song that goes "we sound like melt banana!"

PAULYBEE2656 03.04.2008 05:32 AM

pre rock! llove epic fits...... seemingly they are gonna be supporting melt banana over europe... hopefully in dublin too.....

i think skin graft has the best roster of all the noise rock record labels at the moment, i mean load has tons of great bands too, but they have some bullshit on their too, and crucial blast is great, but they have all sorts of extreme music on their.

atsonicpark 03.04.2008 05:38 PM

Haha.. crucial blast rules.

The dude who owns that is the nicest guy ever and very easy to work with!!

Everyneurotic 03.04.2008 05:40 PM

love the skullflower reissues they have been doing.

plus they run a good mailorder.

funny you mention it, i just ordered some shit of there the other night, (((microwaves))), some skullflowers re-issues, growing, somethin else, cant remember though.

atsonicpark 03.04.2008 06:00 PM

(((microwaves))) are easily in the top 10 best bands around right now. I did find something funny about them though. About 2 years ago, after their first breakup and right before they got back together, they had six finger satellite listed as an influence on their myspace, and I sent them an email saying that I really loved their stuff and it reminded me of a modern six finger satellite. They shot me an email back and said "yea, they're okay." And then I noticed the next time I checked their myspace, six finger satellite was removed as an influence. Haha.

"System 2" is one of the best records I've ever heard. Love the weird ass bass...

batreleaser 03.04.2008 09:00 PM

dude, its not unnormal for people to change tastes in music yknow. theres a ridiculous amount of new good extreme bands these days, mostly in the doom metal and noise genres, and ive also noticed that the best experimental rock and electronic acts and whatever are the same as theyve been for the last 5 years. did that make sense?

atsonicpark 03.05.2008 01:23 AM

Sure, I agree with you, but I don't know why you said all that (maybe you were confused by what I was trying to say in my post?). All I'm saying is, they had like 5 influences listed, and when I called them a "modern day SFS" they took that off their influences. It made me laugh. I wasn't trying to make some point about it.

dionysusundone 03.05.2008 09:47 AM

I second the singer's cuteness.
They're a pretty decent band.

it's good to know that there is at least one new & young band in the UK that doesn't suck, although i'd say the velvet velvet spicerack will kick these guys arses

atsonicpark 08.20.2008 05:11 PM

I really like a few Bush songs. "Mouth" and "Swallowed" off that album are great.
