i am kloot?

i've just started getting into this band and think they're real good. any other fans on the board?

porkmarras 01.10.2007 08:11 AM

I am not.
I have one album and a single of theirs.I listened to the first track on the album and put it away forever. It was a present after all.

Stijn 01.10.2007 08:25 AM

Saw them live once, not bad.

the ikara cult 01.10.2007 12:05 PM

Saw them live as a support and they were really good. By all accounts the first album is good but the rest less so. "Theres blood on your legs.... i love you"

porkmarras 01.10.2007 12:11 PM

I think that the first time i've ever heard their music was on one of those 'WE LOVE YOU' compilations which is a sublabel of WALL OF SOUND.Damnit, there was a track by a band called Landspeed on it that i used to play on heavy rotation all the time!

Bump. Been listening to them today and saying to myself, "I kind of overlooked these". Quite a sharp lyricist. And very much the sort of thing I'd not normally like.

the ikara cult 04.25.2010 06:48 PM

That song i referenced there was called Twist, i used to have a version where they sang it in French. Dead good.
When i saw them they had posters around the venue with a pair of legs and blood splattered across them.

theres blood on your legs.... i love you

Is this the wedge that allows the rehabilitation of Turin Brakes' first album into contemporary indie acceptability?
I imagine not, but i hope so

I can't see why not. Can't stand them myself, but it's not a million miles away from the legion of Fahey acolytes, is it?

the ikara cult 04.26.2010 06:28 AM

Id say its around 231,453 miles away. Everything they did after was rubbish but they put together one good album which is more than can be said for alot of groups.

I'd just like to point out that I am Kloot's latest record is brilliant in a way that I didn't think an album that's just some blokes singing songs in a 'mature indie' way ever could be again.

I still don't like Turin Brakes.

demonrail666 07.25.2010 02:51 PM

I played the new album full blast with the windows open this morning, in the hope that it'd impress the woman who works in the hairdressers opposite. She's
lovely.
