I got some mixtape thing for free at a record store yesterday and it has 4 hours of emo/hardcore/indie/metal/punk/rockabilly/ska. Half of it is decent and half of it is horrible, but it's interesting. But I'm generally biased towards indie/punk so obviously "horrible" is just my interpretation. There have been some good hardcore and emo songs, though, I'll admit.
