5/5 Aside from Sonic Youth, I'm having a hard time thinking of any group with as much true musical chemistry as Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Boredoms - Super AE

The second and third tracks are the best.

2.5/5 It really should be a 2.75.. but I don't like using .25's and .75's. the production and arrangements Neil uses here just do not work for me. The songs seem like they could have been great in a Crazy Horse sort of setting. I mean it isn't just downright bad, and some of the songs are pretty enjoyable, but this is pretty mediocore on a normal scale (what I tried to rate it on myself)... on a scale based on Neil himself, this is kind of garbage.

I picked this up a few years back because it was cheap. I can't really say I enjoyed it either.

Landing On Water is pretty bad. Like Old Ways. But whatever. I get why he was doing it. It wasn't miles away from some of Prince's weird tactics to get freed from the label. Shrug.

Now I'm back to being in awe of Weezy's Da Drought 3, which I haven't listened to in well over a year. Forgot how great it was.

viewtiful_alan 02.17.2009 09:49 PM

I think he needs to listen to that one again himself

3.5/5
I might be being a little generous since most of the non-instrumental songs weren't that great, but its enjoyable over all and the instrumental stuff is fantastic as usual
